Last year, the passage rate among the 11,195 test-takers who took the test for the first time was 83 percent, down from 86 percent in the previous year.
This year, there were 11,206 applicants scheduled to take the test.
The bar examination to be administered in February will be the last before the board begins to administer the Uniform Bar Exam, which has been adopted in 15 other states. The new test will include two state-specific components that will be administered online: a "New York Law Course" and a 50-question multiple choice test.

Yeah that's messing with me a little, like maybe the article went out early and wasn't meant until tomorrow and they mean midnight as in right after 11:59pm Tuesday night. It's an article that will be published in tomorrow's NY Law Journal. If results were coming out tonight, it would say "were released late Monday night and early Tuesday morning." Considering that the results master list goes live for all of us at the same time overnight, of course the NYLJ would publish them as soon as they became available. It's a newspaper.
