Does anyone have a list of which Barbri essays are not assigned on the PSP?

I'm thinking about skipping the Simulated MBE analysis so I can catch up on Crim and shit. Anyone else know if it's helpful to even watch those things? two days is just ridiculous.

^ I did Kaplan, but I didn't watch the video. Just went ahead and reviewed it myself since the video seemed fairly useless.
Is anyone going to put any effort into the NY multi choice? Or is the general wisdom to just focus on essays, since you'll learn relevant law there?
My impression is that NYMC questions are just so technical it's not a good time investment.

errrr so should I be concerned that I just did a NY practice essay and came out on the exact opposite side of the argument as Barbri for whether or not long-arm Personal Jx was established?

I've taken NY a couple of times, and I can tell you that the NYMC are pretty far out there.orangecup wrote:^ I did Kaplan, but I didn't watch the video. Just went ahead and reviewed it myself since the video seemed fairly useless.

It's like, 1/3 you'll know, 1/3 you guess, 1/3 might as well be written in Chinese.
The feedback from my friends was the same.
Yes, I agree that your time is better spent elsewhere.

for folks taking the bar at javits but live in the outer boroughs of NY, would getting a hotel in the city be recommended to avoid an hour long commute in the morning?

I live in the city and am contemplating doing it as cross-town traffic can be crazy. On a bad day, it takes 45 minutes to reach Times Square

I watched them for the subjects I was struggling in (property and evidence) and found them sort of helpful. In addition to going over the problems, they give you mini-reviews of important topics and provide tips for answering common question patterns and avoiding trick answer choices. You can definitely do all of them in a day, on 2x they only take ~45 min apiece.Notmyfavbar wrote:I'm thinking about skipping the Simulated MBE analysis so I can catch up on Crim and shit. Re: NY July 2015 Support Group
once we get into cramming for state subjects, is it a waste of time to go into the barbri distinctions and assesments that we did previously and rewrite all the rule statements?

Haven't done anything for NJ yet. Honestly I'm planning on waiting until next week and then cramming the NJ civpro info in a day or two.Notmyfavbar wrote:Anyone taking NJ too? If so, what is everyone doing about the NJ Civ Pro stuff?

It's not at all. You're more likely to get everything mixed up between having to know both the FRCP and NY Practice.Notmyfavbar wrote:Barbro wrote:Haven't done anything for NJ yet. I'm not studying for MA either. I'll read distinctions on the way and just throw together some essays. I expect my MBE score to carry my anyways. As long as I write "The Commonwealth" and not "State" I'm probably gonna be fine.

What do we need to know on NY practice? I'm taking Barbri and the lecture is super detailed (the handout is 89 pages). It seems like we don't need anywhere need that much for an essay. Thoughts?

Test Center in Albany.
Staying at Mariott by the airport.
Wednesday session ends at 5:00PM.
Flight is at 7:30PM.
Should I a) rent a car or b) rely on cabs & shuttles?
Can't miss the flight. thoughts? If anyone else in this predicament want to schedule together?

I took the exam in Albany in July 2014 and was staying at Hyatt.
If you stay at Hyatt, they have free shuttle to the airport after the exam. There should be a few taxis outside the hotel too. Of course, you can pre-book a taxi to pick you up at the right time.
I booked a taxi to go to Niagara Falls.

Anyone know about outlet availability at Times Union in Albany? One would HOPE that BOLE has thought about this and has sufficient outlets since they allow laptops - but I don't assume anything went it comes to the BOLE.

how much time are you allotting to the nymc on the actual exam? We have to plan our own time....

Based on the results I am getting in my practice sets, I might as well fill in A-B-B-A-C-A-D-A-B-B-A over and over as soon as I sit down. I'd probably score the same.victortsoi wrote:how much time are you allotting to the nymc on the actual exam? We have to plan our own time....
In all seriousness, I am going to shoot for 60 min on the MC straight out of the box, circle the one's I may want to revisit, then come back to them if there is time after the essays. I usually finish my practice essays with a bit of extra time so I'm hoping this strategy works on game day.
