Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to bring my own pencils for MBE day, although I'm at least 50 % sure I can have a watch without an alarm. The Oregon test-day instructions are THAT BAD.
Obviously I'll bring pencils and just throw them away/leave them in the hallway if they're not allowed, but ffs, who wrote this bullshit? I had to email and ask what we were supposed to do for lunch because it was entirely silent on whether we'd get to leave, have lunch provided, be able to bring a lunch, etc. (We can leave.)

CA has the timer and your PC's clock running. Maybe other states don't permit that...3|ink wrote:Why? I think they might disable the timer in my state. I've had it with Barbri.
MBE-OPE 4: 173/200 (last week) - scaled
Barbri Half-Day: 70/100. (this week)
Mixed Set 6: 30/50 (this week)
MBE-OPE 3: 180/200 (today) - scaled
I recommend purchasing an MBE-OPE if you need reassurance.

This is tempting. I just did MIxed Set 6 and didn't do as badly as I thought, but didn't feel confident on ANY OF THEM... I felt like I was guessing on more than 1/2 of them!!!sharklet wrote:I've had it with Barbri.

Has anyone else purchased one of these? I know it's late in the game but thinking about spending the $50 to see non-Barbri questions that might calm my nerves....

On a general level, what was the biggest difference you noticed between the MBE-OPE questions and Barbri's questions?sharklet wrote:I've had it with Barbri.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Mixed Set 6 killed me. Afterward, I decided to do an analysis, I noticed that I usually score around 10 percent lower on the first 25 than the later 25. And getting only 1/8 on Contract on Set 6 didn't help either. I can't tell if I am just overanalyzing everything to avoid studying, or I just need to warm up before the exam. Probably both. So.. about that wills and trust.ladylawyer1221 wrote:This is tempting. I just did MIxed Set 6 and didn't do as badly as I thought, but didn't feel confident on ANY OF THEM... ETA: Good days bad days aside, averaged around 74% through 6 mixed set. There's really nothing else I can do at this point.

Echoing a few others, does anyone know what the "goal" is for the NY Assorted 50 MC Quiz?

As an old man humble brag, if I put up near my practice test numbers on the real thing I'm going to be the first person to get a 170 MBE and a 43/50 NY MC....and fail the bar b/c I suck a writing.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Two observations: (1) the incorrect answer choices stand out more. Some of the choices are downright ridiculous. (2) The questions tend to be a bit shorter than Barbri's. I finished both MBE-OPE sets with about 30 minutes to spare, compared to only a few minutes on Barbri's tests. And generally, the questions just seem significantly more straightforward. For additional background/comparison, I had a 156 on the Simulated MBE four weeks ago but my scores have been rapidly declining in some of Barbri's later assessments.kykiske wrote:On a general level, what was the biggest difference you noticed between the MBE-OPE questions and Barbri's questions?sharklet wrote:I've had it with Barbri.

Woah... a 156 would likely get you a 170+ scaled indeed. I guess the +15 is about accurate.sharklet wrote: Two observations: (1) the incorrect answer choices stand out more. why would you do anything more than minimal review on the MBE if you got a 156?

Correct, but they convert + scale your score to predict your result on a 200-question test. They also provide answer explanations.errmsg wrote:Am I totally missing something or aren't the MBE-OPEs 100 questions and not 200?sharklet wrote:Two observations: (1) the incorrect answer choices stand out more. Agreed. I managed to get through the 50-question set in 60 minutes but only by choosing random answers to some questions that were too long/I couldn't figure out pretty quicklysharklet wrote:Have any of you timed the NYMC Assorted test?
