So sorry to hear about your score. Not to be a jerk, but I do not know how this is 'helpful information you would have liked to know' while eagerly awaiting your test results. If anything, this would only seem to lead to needless obsessing about whether one's MBE score will be as predicted based on bar prep results.manyx2 wrote:I don't want to freak anyone out. I am just thinking I would appreciate this input if I weren't me I guess. I took both MA and NY as a second timer. Failed both last summer. Just got my MA results today and I failed by 2.5 pts, but the shocker is my MBE. I failed last time because my MBE was a 126 scaled (in MA) NY it was a little higher. This time I almost solely studied the MBE up until the last month added a few essays in daily. My MBE score here is a 127.6. 1 point better?!!? AND I hammered Civ Pro. I scored well above the avg. on most all essays. I am SHOCKED at my MBE score. Scored a 119 raw on the barbi practice. Something must have gone seriously wrong? I don't get it. Not optimistic at all about passing NY with this MBE score. Only saving thought is in NY its only worth 40% as opposed to 50% and I did very well on MA essay...and I didn't study any MA law.
Fingers crossed. I just need to know!

I failed as well by a few points. I'll have to pick myself up and get back at it. I hope those of you that did not make it also find the strength to get back at it. Congrats to those that passed. I hope to feel like you do six months from now.

I'm so sorry to those who didn't pass. I know the feeling well.
I passed the NY bar, with 141 on the MBE. Words cannot describe how I feel!!
Congrats to all who passed!! It took me half an hour to muster up the courage to open that dreaded email.

Re: NY Bar Feb 2015 Waiting Thread
So I passed, but I'm not exactly happy. Something similar to relieved, but that's too positive a term to apply when I so deeply resent having been put through this nonsense in the first place.
To those with bad news, hang in there. The test measures little else besides how you did with rote recall on two particular days. I found it helpful to sublimate anger about having take the test into studying for it. Maybe a better attitude would have led to the same result, but.
Now time to fill out that application while waiting for NJ... and continuing to do research on bar exams in general so I can do my part in getting them drastically reformed if not abolished. (Oh, and get a job, perhaps? They'll hire me now, right? I had my research cited in an ivy's law review when I was a teenager, for crissake. Hire me!)

Re: NY Bar Feb 2015 Waiting Thread
Somehow I raised my MBE by at least 25 raw points from the Barbri final assessment a week before the exam administration. Soooooo, just in case anyone was worried about not being able to raise their score. Didn't really do anything but look over my notes. Weird, but I passed! Good luck to all of you.

Did you pass? Are you certified for admission? If so, that's odd. Mine says, "Congrats you are certified... blabla bla..." Towards the bottom it says, "Your MBE scaled score was ___."coloradosky wrote:Mine does not.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
