Does anyone know how to access MBE scores?

Did anyone find out how to do this yet for those of us who were unsuccessful? Or do we wait for snail mail?

Had a 2.7 GPA at Southwestern. Started studying in December. Took only bar related classes my last semester. Used BARBRI and finished all the assignments. During the last two weeks leading up to the exam, went over each topic once and worked on weaknesses. After day 1, reviewed only the MBE subjects. After day 2, worked on only what you think the last days' subjects will be. Took time off work to dedicate full time to BARBRI. This formula worked for me.

If you failed, your score information is mailed, and you'll receive a subsequent packet with your essays and PT's. If you passed, you cannot receive score information.

There is a roundabout way for anybody (including passers) to determine a floor/ceiling for their MBE scores, which requires processing a request through the NCBE to see if your score meets or exceeds the score required by DC (133) and MN (145) and ND (150) to qualify for admission without examination. Costs $25 and can be used through NCBE's score services.

Bulge Rule is an exception where the federal courts can establish PJ if the defendant is, for example, served within 100 miles of the filing court. Regardless, there is no rule that affects scores and grading other than giving them exactly what they want to see.

Yup I'm totally a nerd. It was not related to that civ pro area just that getting over a 100 point mountain made me think of the 100 mile bulge rule.

P.S. The pass list was posted this a.m. I'm too nice to return the sentiments to someone who rubbed it in my face in May.

For all of the ones who failed this exam: are you planning to sit for the next exam? When are you planning to start studying? I am certainly clueless.

No, I decided NOT to take Feb, I'm waiting until July. I feel like I need more time and I want to start studying in April for 4hrs a day instead of waiting until Late May and doing 12hrs a day. I have a disability and take meds that cause a lot of fatigue so I think that will work best for me.

I think we need to lobby the governor's office over this test. The Governor failed the CA Bar his 1st time, believe it or not. Instead of complaining lets actually do something about this! With the pass rate at well below sub 50% this is nuts. There are states were the pass rates range from the 70's to the 90's. Why does CA have to have such a difficult exam? A bit of lobbying may actually get the Bar to make real changes.

This is also a 30 year low for pass rates. Perhaps with some pressure the Bar could be made to make some real changes that would put the CA bar in line with the vast majority of the nation. Having a test this difficult is nothing more than a barrier to entry. It is a joke that this is simply a test of minimum competence, when the majority of attorneys who took the exam flunked it too. Better yet, lets randomly have those on the committee that design the test take a past exam, and see how they do. I suspect the results would be enlightening. If it's a test of 'minimum competence' they should have no trouble, right?

Incidentally, I have not checked my results yet. Waiting for the letter in the mail. (I want my scores if I flunked.) Given that I have taken this test a couple of times, I am not optimistic.

Oh and if anyone has any test resources they want to message my way, I will take them. I need all the help I can get!

Half a mind to start studying tonight and the other half a mind to wait until after Thanksgiving at least. I'm obviously dumb enough to have failed with full time study this summer so is the answer more studying? Better studying sounds great and all but what is better studying?

I truly thought I bombed the MBE--especially the morning session. I had something like 13 "D" answers in a row. Anyway, congrats to you, in particular, RBG. You're a great example of how perseverance to pass this f*ing thing can and will pay off for those that didn't quite make it this time around.

Honestly I am still confused by the MBE scaling as well as the overall test scaling. So I know my scaled is somewhere between 145 and 150 but I have no idea about raw, 130's I guess? Omg who cares right? haha

Bummer, man...That's a very solid MBE score, too. I feel like only in CA would it not be enough

Well, the good news (always a silver-lining!) is that you'll have a good idea of what you're weakness is and how to refine your studying. Feel free to PM me as you study with any questions.

Received my scoresheet in the mail today, would appreciate some feedback on how to interpret this and what weaknesses I should focus on.

Essay 1: 65
Essay 2: 65
Essay 3: 60 (one grader says 65, the other 55)
Essay 4: 57.5
Essay 5: 55
Essay 6: 57.5

PT A: 57.5
PT B: 65

I totally thought I killed thhe essays, or at least did enough to satisfy minimum competence, but that doesn't look like the case. I am planning to get bar essays to supplement Themis for my second go around in Feb.
