I like the Sony computers - I had to use a Dell for the exam, and I wish I brought my Sony - the space under the keyboard for Dell is kind of too long and its not as comfortable for typing very fast, and its a bit too bulky - I think the Sony keyboard is more accessible, and the keyboard attachments are "lighter" so I think its better for faster typing.

However, I wrote fine with the Dell - any difference was minimal. What was problematic was the freezing f***ing testing center which makes your hands so cold you cant type full speed!

I think it's most important to have a computer that you're just used to.

You're over thinking it.

Just use a laptop you're used to.

Thinkpads will have the best built in keyboard.

Still makes more sense to bring in your own external keyboard. Just not a mechanical one as that will be taken away.

I don't have that specific model, but I do use the Lenovo Y410P, which essentially has the same keyboard except the TrackPoint center button. It's super solid, and I'd highly recommend it. However, be warned that the keys don't press as lightly as most of the HP models. The tradeoff is heavier press, but ever press of a key feels consistent and noticeable.

With respect to keyboards, I've had bad experiences with Acer, HP, and Asus, and Toshiba, and good experiences with Lenovo and MSI.

+1 to this. Also, QSENN DT-35 is by far the best non-mechanical, rubber dome keyboard I've ever used.

I'm a 0L, so I don't know if it's thesaurus for me to be posting here, so please remove if I'm breaking any rules. I was just way to ecstatic when I saw a thread on keyboards
