I downloaded the 30 free cards on the app, checked them out, ordered the hard copy version. If I hate them, I'll resell on ebay. I am thinking of it as having purchased $85 worth of additional time.

I think you can return within 10 days as well, which is plenty of time to decide whether you want them.

I got my Critical Pass MBE flashcards last week, and since it's 36 days from the exam, it's time to begin cross-referencing and add notations from the CMR and the lecture notes to the flashcards and taking them with me everywhere so I really have it down. http://criticalpass.refr.cc/3W6LZL6

The simulated MBE is next Thursday for Barbri so the goal is to have get as many study hours in for the MBE (and the essays) as possible and really start gearing up.

Would it be productive to purchase the Critical Pass flash cards at this stage in the game?

To be more serious, there's no point in buying them at this stage in the game. If you aren't already getting passing scores on your practice exams you will fail for sure.

No need to be dyck, just asking a question. We're all in the same boat here.

I'm not sure what answer you were looking for. Yes, of course, it's worth it if you think it will help you, since we're over a month out of the test.

I understand. I ask only because those who purchased seemed to have done so weeks ago and have already incorporated them into their study regiment.

I bought them weeks ago and haven't used them much, but I'm going to try and use them more going forward, especially when the lectures are done. I don't think you're too late at all, if you think that you will use them.

This.

I always heard that the last three weeks of Bar prep are the most critical...it's when most of the memorization takes place.

Barbri's method is to get you familiar with the subjects (aka basic understanding), and then when lectures end next week, start memorizing everything COLD and practicing. We haven't even finished all the subjects yet!

I am familiar/have some law memorized right now, but I'm far from knowing everything I need to know for the bar.

I bought the Critical Pass cards after reading the strong endorsements here and just wanted to add that while they are quite good, they are missing what seems to be important information. They come with several extra blank cards in each set, but I have used them all to add things they left out. For example, there are no cards on presumptions in the evidence set, which is a couple of full pages of the CMR outline. This is just to say that you may want to carefully compare their content to your materials when you are studying to add anything important. Or just don't rely on them exclusively as your memorization tool.

That's sort of frightening, especially considering I wasn't planning on heavily using our lecturer's evidence handout since it's 150 pages long (WTF?). Guess I'll have to cross check all of the lecture handouts against these cards now, as I was planning on using them as a primary memorization tool for the MBE subjects...

I don't mean to suggest that this is a foolproof strategy, but I have been first reviewing the lecture handout to add any state distinctions onto the cards and then reviewing the state distinctions outlines in the CMR to add those. That's how I've noticed what is missing -- the state distinctions outline will tell you what part of the CMR it corresponds to, and if I can't find a card that it fits on, I make one that adds the MS material and the state distinctions. I'm sure this misses some things, but I figure that if it doesn't have any state distinction, it's probably (hopefully) not a hugely testable topic.

I love the Critical Pass cards, but spent around 4 hours per subject adding distinctions and omitted material. I consider this time studying as rereading CMR and lecture notes and comparing them to and supplementing the cards helps me memorize. I like that the cards have the minimum BLL and space to supplement. I wrote small and did not run out of space on existing cards or run out of extra cards for the handful of topics the cards omitted.

Yeah, I've been adding state distinctions by going through the CMR, but like I said I haven't been scrupulously cross-referencing the handouts. As it turns out, KY doesn't have any state distinctions for presumptions, so I never would have thought to add that particular topic unless I noticed it on the handout itself.

Like you said, probably not a huge deal because the cards seem pretty comprehensive, but something like presumptions seems like a pretty big topic. Or like the other night I noticed that the easements cards had the rule for when the benefit of an easement will run with the land, but didn't say anything about when the burden of an easement is automatically transferred. Weird.

Ugh, can't decide whether I should get these or continue making my own... I guess I could just buy them.

Exactly what I'm doing.
Bought a super fine-point pen and am annotating.

I have actually found the critical pass cards have MORE than my lecture handouts in most topics. I have been using the annotations to do state distinctions for the most part.

Me too (cards have extra stuff not in handouts)

I'm not adding CMR stuff to the cards. Just NY distinctions.

Most of the time. As Drive-In said, sometimes there's more on the cards, and sometimes I feel the info on the cards is a bit too bare-bones, but all in all I'm very pleased.

ETA: just found three instances where the cards were word-for-word the same as the handouts/lecture notes. Glad I bought these.

All in all, it's a huge time saver.

I tried to make notecards out of the Tort outline in the CMR (which I think is around 60-70 pages long) and I got two-thirds done and then gave up. Trying to make to make notecards out of the entire CMR is ridiculous. (Note that I am making notecards from the lecture notes for certain essay topics, like Secured Transactions and Commercial Paper.) However, I feel that even though the flashcards aren't perfect and most likely require some annotation, they are a huge time saver for getting through the MBE topics.
