I'll tell you anything that you like to know. Yeah I'm in SF and did pass.
Commercial prep courses just were not the way for me to understand how to conquer the test. The tutor, in the simplest sense, helped me realize that it's not really about knowing and understanding the law, it's about knowing and understanding the CA Bar exam (for which knowing a little law is of course needed) and he had the tools and methods that really allowed me to focus on what needed to be done and succeed.

But yeah let me know what you want to know.

I am having no luck in the job market out here. I am also thinking about taking the NJ/PA bar in February. I have an uncle in Philly who wants to retire and is looking to let go of his practice. I really don't want to move back to the east coast but nothing good is going on here.
The though of bar prep is just so dreadful... my brain goes numb when I even consider it.

MURPH - Don't give up! You moved out here for a reason! It took me a while to find the job I found. When I pass the bar (being positive this time around) I'm PRAYING the company I work for now promotes me. Only needed a JD for the job I'm doing now...
Hang in there.

are you calling us failures

there's a new hope for you now

No, I'm making me. I went to three years of law school so I feel like I should be licensed. It's a personal thing, I guess. I'll end up taking it until I pass. ($9,974,023 later.....).

All of our sessions were done over phone. Nothing face-to-face. I mean there's really no need when you think about it, haha

Message me their details. It's hard to find one when there's so many out there. If that makes sense.

Thanks,
I got a job offer a couple hours after posting that. It is a one year fellowship public interest position with LAFLA, working with my fellow veterans. I accepted.
I am still considering the February bar exam.
It is funny how this works. I want to be a prosecutor but have been whining that no one is hiring entry level prosecutors. Then right after I accepted the position San Diego, SLO and the LA City attorney all posted entry level openings.

MURPH I thought you passed the bar already?? Application is available OCtober 1 and I plan on getting the ball rolling then. I'm working full time, so I have to do as much as I can when I can…
Any more tutor suggestions?

I did pass. I am thinking about taking it in NJ/PA where I grew up and may have more job opportunities.

Where are you located in CA? I would think that there are certain areas in Cal where there are good job opportunities. I lived in the PA/NJ area (Chalfont, PA) years ago for about 6 months. It was ok back then, but not sure what it is like now.

A lot of people I know have moved to the SD area (as have I). Bay area is too much of a clusterfuck.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
