$125? Yeah, eff that. Every single person I know that took Themis for the bar exam last summer passed so I'm just sticking with Themis. I'm not going to kill myself or worry about what everyone else is doing. I can barely keep up with the assignments Themis gives me each day--no way I'm going to have time to look at anything else. Also, for comparison, I prepped with Themis for the MPRE, and I was very pleased with my preparation and the materials they gave me to study.
Yeah, I dropped a buck fifty on Kaplan MBE questions because I thought I'd need more questions, but now I'm getting behind on what Themis wants me to do. I kinda regret spending that much.

I used Themis for the MPRE as well. Started studying two days before the exam. Very satisfied customer 8)
Wish I was able to do the same for the bar.

I know of a guy who had completed about 70% right before the test, and pushed hard on the last day to hit the 75% mark just in case the worst case scenario happened. He said he felt comfortable walking out of the exam that he had passed.

Regarding the Simulated MBE Exam today, the instructions say: "Before you begin, please make sure you have watched the ‘Introduction to the Simulated MBE’ lecture by Rick Duffy, Esq."

Does anyone know where to find this?

Also, about to book Atlantic City room. I heard from a friend who took it there last year that the Convention center is an absolute zoo the morning before that test so be prepared. They say to arrive by 7:45, she suggested being at the door at 6.
Well shit. I wonder if I should get a hotel room instead of driving in early.

Yeah, might not be a bad idea. I didn't want to take any risks with traffic, delayed trains, etc. Plus, I'll probably get more rest this way.

So where are you guys going to keep your overnight bags during the exam? I assume you have to check out when you leave to take the test... in the car?

Yeah, it says it's not available until Friday. The hell.

Most hotels have a secured room they will allow you to keep things in during the day if you need to check out but aren't taking your things right away.

Of course! The only person from Pitt who took Themis last year and didn't pass did something like 40% of the program.

Are we supposed to be doing this practice exam in the book or the one that is online? It said in e-mail to do it in the book and then transfer it, but looks like you can also do it online....

Do they? I guess it's never come up for me except when staying in cheap motels. :P

I need to think about whether to do this or not. I see pros and cons.

I'm not doing the Simulated MBE today. No way. From the mixed MBE sets, I know that I'm hella weak in Contracts and Con Law and need to review those sections before taking 200 multiple choice q's. I may not take it until Thurs. I feel like there's no point in taking the simulated MBE if you haven't reviewed the MBE questions you've already taken. Anyone else feel the same way?

Haha, that's awesome! I'm glad to hear he passed :)

I'm confident that Themis is prepping us well.

In any event, I overslept for some unknown reason so I'm currently missing the physical location for the MBE so I'm walking to my old law school to do it there instead as I type this. Same thing, but I definitely can't do that on real test day. Geezus, I need to straighten out my horrid sleep schedule. I'm definitely burning myself out.

Good luck to everyone on the Simulated MBE!!!

Did a test run to the exam site this morning. 30 miles, not too bad. Only took about 45 minutes, so feeling good about staying at home and not getting a hotel.

I guess this is actually happening.

I'm waiting at least until tomorrow, probably Thursday. I haven't done the review they mentioned and I think that is the purpose of having those tasks on the schedule...

I booked my hotel last night! I live in the 'burbs and a friend of mine does also. We're both close enough where we COULD drive, conceivably, or take the train... but we both decided just to bite the bullet and book a hotel. It feels real now...

For those of you doing the simulated MBE at home, how were your morning scores?

Bedsole wrote:For those of you doing the simulated MBE at home, how were your morning scores?
71/100

I definitely thought it was harder than the first two milestones (got an 80 and 84 on those, respectively).

60/100 this morning for me. Agreed on the difficulty: I scored 86 and 88 percent on the previous milestones.

66/100 for me. I was a little surprised to see the goal at 70% considering the fact that they said most people make 110-120 on the day. Did a bit worse than the milestones (68% and 74%). I did significantly worse on criminal than I have during practices or milestones. Not sure what happened there.

In other news... no completion percentage for doing the morning.

After looking at the first ten answers, I can tell you one thing, double check you filled in the write answers... and learn how to read. Of the first ten I got wrong 2 were the wrong bubble filled in, and 4 were not being able to read...

Update: after review all thirty three of them 10 of them were due to misreading, 2 were because of a wrong bubble. Ugh I hope I do not do that on the Bar Exam.... :x
