Another question, I know there is a limit of 20 hours a week if you are a full time student and want to work on campus, but I couldn't find any restrictions about working off campus, do you know if the same 20 hrs apply? Or can you work as many hrs you want?

Thanks!!!
Here's my first semester schedule:

Monday: Contracts 10:30-12:30; CivPro 3-5
Tuesday: LP 9:15-10:15; CrimLaw 11-12:30; Torts 2-3:30
Wednesday: Same as Monday
Thursday: Same as Tuesday

I'm not sure what the limits on working are. I thought they were set by the ABA, but I'm not sure.

Roughly how much homework do you get for each class? Are that many classes manageable in the first semester?? I guess that's what HAS to be taken though so we don't have a choice about it if we wanna graduate within 3 years lol

The homework load is very manageable. I would read and take notes for each class the day prior to the class for about 2 -4 hours. So using the schedule above, I'd typically spend 2-4 hours on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The rest of my time was free time, except 1 month prior to exams when I began prepping for that.

Is it normal to have no class on Friday, or did you just luck out? :D

uconn1L:

For exams, are we required to use some special program on our laptops? Because I don't know how to run windows on my macbook and I'm not about to learn that either. I like my macbook the way it is. So will I be ok for exams??? Thanks!

There is a program called "Bootcamp", which is extremely simple to run and use, that let's you boot Windows on your Mac when you need to use Windows software.

Can anyone comment as to what kind of in-state grants 2L and 3L's usually receive? The OS grant (presumably because of my current status as a grad student) was about half of OS tuition.

I'm curious about this too.. I got a nice OS grant, and if I got it every year, then wow, that would be amazing... This is on my list of questions to ask the student finance office on Saturday for ASD, or phone call sometime next week... Let me know if you find anything out :)

Any sense of the market for non-biglaw NYC jobs post grad? I know this was asked before but thought I'd try and resurrect. Like, public interest or NGO work in NYC? Know anything about the possibility for Equal Justice Works fellowships?
