They are small books, one is the bluebook which is definitely necessary for summer jobs, legal practice, Law review W/O, etc. and I think from what i remember they were actually a bit helpful for legal writing. I hardly ever used them lol, but I mean its not gonna be that much money in comparison to casebooks.

At least $250 + @ TIS and on Amazon for LRW required texts. WTF?!

haha that new edition blue book adding up the expense. To be fair though, its a year long class so look at it as 125 this semester and125 next. You use the same books thank god

Ah-ha! Thank you for talking me off the ledge.

Does anyone know if the orientation is 9am-5pm on both days, or just Monday?

Hey Fender, what's up man? Have you ordered any books yet? I ordered some things online but I am wondering if I should have waited until orientation.

I think it is something like 8:30am-7:00pm on Monday and 9:00am-4 or 5 on Tuesday.

I got mine this past Wednesday. They cut it really close for books, readings, etc.

Haha I take it must have made ATL? yeah I laughed pretty good when i read that email. Entertainment law is really about networking though, so It sorta makes sense for them, but still thats pretty brutal lol.

Yeah, I like the subtle self-promotion plug in that "which he has done himself" because he's so athletic and awesome.

This is the first time I have accessed TLS from the IU law school library. From the amount of work I have been assigned so far, I am afraid it will not be a common ritual for me this year.

Post-script: I was unaware that Torts was the mother of all reading assignments. I read for hours preparing for the first day of Torts and felt like I knew nothing when I was in class. Law school is a different breed....

I felt like i knew nothing about the first month of school. Its just the way law school is taught. In order to understand the whole you can't really grasp everything at the beginning.

Yes, prepare to be very confused for months. It takes awhile to get everything as a whole, at least IMHO.

I didn't know what a tort even was until about a month in. No joke.

Any questions from prospective students yet? As we 1L's now have four class days under our belts, we are pros at law school, and can answer any question you might conceivably have.

Good point. Myself and Unjust should pass the Q&A along (Mulligan- I have not yet seen you at school yet, so I am unsure as to whether you are with the other transfers). As of this point, no one cares what 2L's have to say...

Hey Spoon or anyone else that may have input, did you have Hoffman and/or Boshkoff? Any tips for what to focus on for their exams?
It seems that Hoffman focuses a lot on policy and the purpose of law.
