I'm taking Criminal Law now as a 1L and I can't sleep at night because of the gruesome and horrific crimes that are covered in the class. I don't think CL is for me.

I'm from the east coast and I love IUB.

Then my lord, stay away from any criminal law internship.

Prosecutor: (flipping around monitor) Ever wonder what the inside of a head looks like without a brain?
Me: *vomits*

And refuse to visit any old crime scene. My poor assumption: it's been cleaned up, and not locked up for months to preserve evidence.

First day in court, they have a child porn sentencing, not only is it creepy being in the same room as the guy who watched children under 5 but they actually play the videos and read the transcripts out-loud.

Its nice and sunny. things a pretty good. One final done and two left. The school actually reminds me a lot of IU, the building are actually.

Cold, barren and gray, just like my soul. I think classes have been a lot better than 1L year. 80% less gunners.

Only have a few more days till freedom, and somehow took an even slacker schedule in the Spring. Can't complain about any of that.

I would say, by all means, don't pay $150K to go to school. If you have better options, then by all means (ex. scholarship at top 14). I'm not going to pretend IU it magic, but they have been much better than their respective peers in scholarship money. Please post when you have some offers and options.

Be like a fisherman: cast your net wide, see what you reel in, and then figure out whether its marketable.

Two finals done. Two more to go. I believe that Income Tax may be the toughest final I'll ever take. I feel like we've been over the entire tax code, but we've barely scratched the surface.

Edit: And Bloomington is riddled with drugs. After working in the PD's office over the summer, I can tell you where to go if you want cocaine or heroin. That knowledge terrifies me.

I have a few friends that were accounting majors in my tax class and they said the class was significantly different. It helped give a basic background but it really did not help with much of the class.

Of the ~20 people I have talked to in income tax, I will bet you don't look forward to it. I may take it next year, but I won't like it.

Congrats to those who are done. I sincerely hate you for putting this semester behind you... I have just another day or so.

Oh, for the 1L's: I would recommend Williams for Con law, Stake for Property, and Steele for legal professions. If you do not have those professors, you are likely fucked next year.

Heard great things about Sue as well. Just her tests are harder than Stake's.

Robel is apparently no longer teaching LP. It's Steele, Weng, and some new person. I would hope for Steele if I was a 1L. I feel so helpless for these poor souls, they can't even get out from a Baude class.

If you do have Baude for Con law, just enjoy his stories and then go home and read the supplement he recommends. You won't get much out of the actual class.
