While it's entertaining, you shouldn't actually let the newbs actually believe stuff like this.YCrevolution wrote:He means "no" they don't list your LSAT percentile. Instead, they list the percentile of your LSAT relative to your UVA Law peers.thesealocust wrote:*bursts info laughter*FeuerFrei wrote:Do UVA transcripts list your LSAT score and percentile on them?
No
Funny though.

Re: UVA 1L taking questions
I saw this previously in a past thread but I cannot seem to find it now.
What does a sample 1L class schedule look like? Is it 9 to 5 Monday through Friday?

Re: UVA 1L taking questions
It's really luck of the draw; the timeslots stay the same for every section, but what days you're in class changes. I had a pretty balanced schedule, the early morning class started at 8:30 but we only had it 3 times a week instead of 4. So I had 3 classes per day Mon-Thur and one class on Friday... except the Friday class was at 8:30. That sucked.hopefulundergrad wrote:That looks pretty miserable.YCrevolution wrote: Monday:

Re: UVA 1L taking questions
I said that bc that's a lot of time actually in class. I guess I assumed 3hrs in class per day (hopefully all in the morning) and then I could spend 4-5hrs doing reading and studying per day and then an hour working out before leaving campus.vanwinkle wrote:It's really luck of the draw; the timeslots stay the same for every section, but what days you're in class changes. Re: UVA 1L taking questions
Well, I was having 3 classes per day, so that was about 3 hours in class per day (3.5 on the days I had Contracts, since we started early at 8:30, but we also had it one less day a week than other sections). It's just that the class hours are spread out a lot more. There's an intentional long break for all sections between 11AM and 2PM, which you can use for reading, studying, or whatever else you want. (LRW is one hour per week and shoved into this break-time period on one day.)hopefulundergrad wrote:I said that bc that's a lot of time actually in class. Every section this past fall had Contracts at 8:30/8:50, Crim at 11, Torts at 2:10, and Civ Pro at 3:40. The only thing that changed was what day of the week it's on; most schedules work out so you're averaging about 3 hours of class a day, but because of what days they fall on you might end up heavier on some days or having a lot longer breaks on some days.

1Ls, are you still pissed for not getting into CCN?
I'm just curious as to when the pain will go away.

As someone who was fortunate enough to get into 2 of the 3, is this a prevalent attitude at UVA? Doesn't seem like it from what I've seen and I'm perfectly content taking UVA over CCN, but I don't want to be at a school where everybody wishes they were somewhere else.hopefulundergrad wrote:1Ls, are you still pissed for not getting into CCN?

As a 1L, I can tell you I don't know anybody that complains about their choice.
(Of course, now that grades are out that may change. )

Re: UVA 1L taking questions
That's every law school in the country except HYS. CCN students wish they were at HYS, T10 students wanted CCN, T14 students wanted T10, etc. Hell, I'm sure there are HLS students wishing they could go to Yale with no grades.LSlobbyist wrote:As someone who was fortunate enough to get into 2 of the 3, is this a prevalent attitude at UVA? Thoughts on living with a roommate during 1L? Pros/cons on living solo?

Re: UVA 1L taking questions
I definitely enjoy living by myself, but that's a personal preference. I know plenty of people who got roommates and are very happy with the arrangement. You need roommates to live at places like the Graduate Center since you're only getting 1 room out of a 3 or 4 bedroom unit with shared living/dining space, and I know several 1Ls who pull that off happily.hopefulundergrad wrote:Thoughts on living with a roommate during 1L? Re: UVA 1L taking questions
Why in god's name do exams stretch out over 12 days. Could a few of you post your exam schedule from this past semester? You only take 4, right? Hopefully they are at least spread out.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
