Yeah, they called me, but there was a glitch before that allowed students to see we had been admitted and what mailings had been sent to us. It was only a day before the phone call. I guess I'll contact them. I think they haven't gotten around to RDs yet and maybe this is slowing things up. I thought I'd give it awhile as they said they were still waiting for mailing material to come in that might cause a delay. I applied on the first day and was informed only a few days later, so the turnaround was unexpected. I didn't really know what to say.théo wrote:
I thought UVA called people to tell them they were accepted. I was told about my scholarship during the phone call, and then I got the decision letter and scholarship letter in the same envelope, if I recall correctly.

Re: UVA 2L taking questions
Other than getting them from profs closer to exam time, is there a source of old exams other than in the library/law web?
We appear to only have a single exam from a single professor there. Is that normal, or are we just unlucky?

Library/LawWeb is a very poor resource of them. Your professors will give you some old ones as the semester progresses, that's where the vast majority come from for all 1Ls.albanach wrote:Other than getting them from profs closer to exam time, is there a source of old exams other than in the library/law web?

While it is often true that professors do not have a ton of exams in the library, often you can look at other professors' exams in the same subject and take those for practice too. I usually showed them to my professor so they could tell me how similar it was to their exam. Those exams are still helpful because they help you figure out the hardest thing about 1L year - how to take law school exams.

Re: UVA 2L taking questions
Definitely use other law schools' library websites for old exams as well. Some profs are different, but a lot of times you'll find a Crim/Contracts/Torts issue-spotter is pretty much the same from a prof at Berkley as it is at UVa.

1. Too much rain.barneytrouble wrote:For any current student that feels like answering:

2. Too much Jesus.
3. Class on Friday (during first semester of 1L).
4. Overly aggressive AC in one building.
5. No Vietnamese restaurant in C'ville.
I don't have a lot of complaints.
Also, you probably don't know all the good stuff.

they drive at least 5 miles below the speed limit at all times and go through lights/take turns so excruciatingly slowly that i don't quite know how they manage to do it

The mexican food blows for the most part (or at least what I've had)barneytrouble wrote:For any current student that feels like answering:

Coming from a large city, it's weird driving at night with little lighting
The football could be worse (Penn), but it could be better (Michigan)
There's one called Saigon Cafe. I had some Pho to-go from there one night but haven't tried anything else yet. I wouldn't consider myself any sort of Pho expert, but I thought it was okay.plenipotentiary wrote:

I think most of my complaints stem from the city being too small:barneytrouble wrote:For any current student that feels like answering:

-1) Lack of entertainment options/fun activities (as others have said, the movie theaters here suck)
-2) Will likely have to relocate to a new city during the summer b/c of the lack of job opportunities here
-3) The airport sucks - I always end up driving to Dulles if I need to catch a flight somewhere
-4) Lack of big city conveniences (Cville doesn't have a lot of the stores you would find in more urban areas)
-5) Way too many bugs

It wasn't a mexican dish, but I had the best meatloaf of my life there (bison), and the scalloped potatoes and veggies it came with were absolutely amazing. Probably the best meal I've had in C-ville.Stringer Bell wrote:I haven't tried the enchiladas, but my SO brought me a carnitas soft taco from there once and it was pretty horrible.barry wrote:

If anyone's feeling charitable and has access to an old Magill Administrative Law outline, I would greatly appreciate it if you'd be willing to share a copy with me (I'm hoping to use it in conjunction with my notes to create Frankenstein). Thanks.
