I just get nervy if I can't keep an eye on my email and whatnot. I'll spend more time wondering what's going on than I would just checking to see.

Obviously you're exaggerating, though. Without knowing anything about you, I'm guessing that's not the case at all. Like, how'd you manage to do decently well on the LSAT? That exam is three times as long as any individual class and requires sufficiently more concentration as well! I'm going to assume that you're just like me and many other people who check their emails 20+ times a day. I doubt you're really going to feel compelled and distracted over it at every second. And if you really truly think that you would be, I'd highly recommend rethinking law school altogether.

Or consider medication.

Internet in the classroom would really equal no notes for me. It's bad enough that I chat on Bonjour. Some classes are just more...conducive...to chatting.

FWIW there are plenty of places you can get food at 3am, and I have been known to tie a couple on so far. I really wouldn't recommend it though -- I'm really stressing on a memo that is due on Thursday morning. I'm like 20% done. Anyway...you make your own bed. You can party hard, but sleep is the first thing to go.

I'm pretty sure I'm taking years off my life with my current lifestyle. With that said, back to the memo :(

Most people here are pretty nerdy, but the cool nerds, not the annoying ones. Also, we all spend so much time studying and in the library it's pretty hard to tell the difference.

I am scheduled to visit cornell this month. I am waiting on a retake score (previous score is 161) and I am well below their 25th percentile for gpa.

Cornell is 4.5 hours away. Am I wasting my time?

Unless you improve by a decent amount probably. If you are a urm maybe not (I don't know anything about urms cycles sorry)

Still a long shot. Visiting could only help, though.

The 161 LSAT might fly for an URM cycle, but only if combined with a very high GPA. Otherwise, without other very significant softs, definitely a long-shot. :|

Sorry for the douchey comment. It just struck me as funny, and the foliage really IS nice. In all seriousness, I would def. say come up here and check us out. You may decide that if you don't get in this year, you can work hard on LSAT prep and get in next cycle. And I think it is almost never a waste of time to visit any school; it helps you figure out what kind of school suits you best. Good luck!

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think Mr. Como has a full appreciation of the subtleties of the humor of our section.

Absolutely still worth applying, especially considering that I know 2 1Ls here, both white, who's scores were a 165.

Good luck
