I apologize if this has been asked in this thread before, but how difficult would it be to clerk coming from Cornell? I've read that the school places well above its rank in terms of NYC biglaw. Would the same hold true for clerking? Are the low-ish clerk rates due to self-selection or is it just really difficult?

Sherwin's Property was closed-book multiple choice + one, long, multi-part issue spotter. The MC was considerably more difficult than I expected, but that's why the curve is swell. The issue spotter was not terribly difficult, and she loves dat policy, so just put a bunch of that crap in to fill in your edges. And I think the word limit was 2500 words, although she told us in class it would be no more than like 1600. So plan accordingly...

As far as in class, she likes putting naked pictures in her slides. So plan accordingly...

It was pretty brutal this year, but the administration seems to be getting their head in the game.

cite source. Unless you know people in the registrar, the info isn't out yet. An equivalent of this: https://support.law.cornell.edu/student ... y_2012.pdf has not been posted yet since not all the grades are out yet. So where does one get these sources? Also stats re: employment. The 65% stat. Where does that come from?

thanks, cheers.

You know me well enough to know I'm not bullshitting (it's from the registrar). Don't be an asshole- cheers!

Don't know about the 65% stat. If you're quoting me, I'm certain I said I was guessing, but I don't recall ever saying anything like that.

Just double checked, and my mistake: 3.79 is the 10% cutoff for the 1Ls. Median is 3.4784. My bad for posting without double checking.

Everything you need to know from Garvey's class is on the slides.

How do you know this though? The registrar hasn't released this information and the official median is still technically a 3.35 (which we all know is BS anyway). Did you actually go to the school, look at the grade distributions for every 1L class, and figure out the median and top 10% for the 1L class? If so, did you remember to weigh all the classes appropriately? Lastly...why are you calculating the 1L median and top 10% during winter break?

So do the staff in the registrar release information to you that they release to no one else? Or are you using the green book? I'm not saying you're bullshitting. I trust but verify :).

And for the numbers, I'm talking about your post on Fri Nov 30, 2012 12:40 pm, found on page 147 of this thread. DeRosa has given 85% as the "number of people who got an offer through AJF" for the class of 2013. Wondering if you've asked him for the AJF yield for the class of 2014.

One of my STRONG letters of recommendation of whom I have aced three of their classes, received both their Master's and PhD at Cornell. Do you think this will help during the admissions process when paired with good numbers, urm status, and/or the "who influenced you" portion?

A 1L asked the registrar for the median and dean's list cutoffs, and the 1L top 10% was on the grading policy which came with transcripts requested after grades posted (the other two grades are not available yet on it).

So those are official numbers.

They're likely being held up by the upperclass grades since they'll want to send them all as a batch. I'm confident the cutoff is what I posted.

I think it won't matter because lawl school admissions is 99% GPA and LSAT.

Also, they'll list it on your unofficial transcript if you request one, if you're really itching to know.

I know that's eventually true, but is that true before they've made the official determination?

Same. It's on the unofficial one. Not seeing it on the official one, which sucks.
