Haha if I get accepted I'd be glad to, I don't know if we'd have the time. Guitar/singing/screaming.
There's always time to jam a couple hours a week. I was thinking of finding another guitar, keys, drummer and bass player.

Nice, I have a thrash band here at home (we used to play shows pretty regularly) but I wanna do something more prog now. I don't think shortage of practice time should be an issue, all we are doing our 1L year is studying.

What kinda music are you into PinkCow?

Compared to some emails from past years, I can't see how this year's "drama" can be considered bad.

Don't worry: I just set a new cheeseburger eating record so it's ok.

I'm not a metal head, but I'm not averse to playing it.

yo, pinkcow, not here to hate, but you gotta reign that cannibalism in. can't eat your own species, bro. though i occasionally crave a McKoala or koala nuggets, so no harm no foul if that's just a one-time indulgence.

I know, I know it's bad.

For apartment buildings, most common are Collegetown Center, Collegetown Plaza, 312, and Eddygate.
Also common is renting rooms in houses along Dryden, College, Eddy, Buffalo, and Seneca streets (various management companies).
Slightly less common is living down near the Commons in houses or there are some apartments on the Commons proper.
Can't forget of course the 40ish strong bravely living in Hughes.

+1

but seriously, best is a relative term only. none of the bars are great but they can be fun.
I'm only going to discuss collegetown bars because honestly almost no one goes out in the commons.

Royal Palm ("the palms")
2 dollar beers, solid flip cup scene, small dance floor in the back. reliable bar to see other law students on thursday-saturday from about 11:30 to 1:30

Rulloff's
OK pricing, added a Wednesday night special this year of $1 pints, $2 pitchers which makes it a popular midweek spot. much higher proportion of undergrads to grads here than at the palms though

Chapter House
very much a grad student scene. a little further from true collegetown but not far generally speaking. best beer selection in collegetown hands down

Stella's
probably best "cocktail" bar in collegetown. small but high-quality beer selection. not my favorite but some people like it for a couple drinks before heading somewhere else

Pixel
Not that many people go here regularly but it's where the law school has a lot of its bar tabs so... yeah. Decent beer selection and a cool street fighter 2 arcade game

Level B
the only "club"-esque place in collegetown. usually has drink specials.

Dunbars/Dino's/Johnny O's
undergrad bars. if that is your scene then go for it.

What are the top firms that Cornell students get into? I mean, does Cornell have a few law firms where Cornell grads have a larger than expected attorney counts?

LOL, looks like the class of 2014 is going to be absolutely delightful.

kingrajesh: enjoy the last 4 months of your life before law school. do as well as possible 1L year and then think about law firms.
