With grades bad enough that you might get kicked out of school, you really need to stop doing what you're doing and take some time to reevaluate. Take the leave of absence.

I know it doesn't seem like it, but you're actually in a pretty good position. You have enough money saved up that you can take some time (weeks, maybe even a month or two) to look for a job (dog hair cutter or whatever) that will be livable on a day-to-day basis and will provide you enough income that you can stay in your current location — and that will give you enough free time on evenings and weekends to study up on what your next long-term step will be (computer programming or otherwise). You're concerned about getting married before 35, but you're only 27 — you have many years yet. Things with your ex probably won't work out — having broken up repeatedly is a bad sign — but there are lots of other guys out there, and someone will want exactly you, especially when you're in a better position in your life. For the time being, you need to work on yourself, though. From your description, you may suffer from depression or something similar, and that's a serious problem, but at least now you know that and you can get help and get better. Talk to a mental health professional; it's hard, and it's scary, but it works. Fighting this alone is dangerous, but you can overcome it with help.

So yeah, you're in a scary place right now, but things aren't actually as bad as they seem. Take the leave of absence, get some kind of job short-term, get your mental and physical health squared away, and do some research on other long-term plans. Things will get much better soon.

OP, I think you might have worked TOO hard. Instead of trying to do all the readings, just study from old outlines and really only highlight the holdings.

I think you should grind through 1L and take a different tack on studying. Consensus is 2L and 3L are much easier, partly because you can pick classes you are more likely to succeed in. Take a leave of absence and retake the D next year part time before shifting back to full time for second semester if you absolutely have to and the school allows it.

But don't drop out unless you really can't graduate. Unlike kids stuck at T2 and T3s, you can take your T-14 JD to land solid jobs outside of the legal field.
