For federal loans?

The only two reasons you can be denied are (1) a drug-related conviction or (2) outstanding/unresolved credit history.

Otherwise, no, you can't really get rejected if you're attending an ABA-accredited school

Not entirely true. Not sure about the drug conviction. But, you cannot be denied for stafford with bad credit.

I didn't mean "bad credit". Its not your credit score that matters, its if you have unresolved debts on your credit history. The good news is that even if this is an issue, you can clear it up then re-apply for loans. I don't know anybody who was ultimately unable to get federal loans, even if they were initially denied

See the thread about appeals. Basically if you agree to pay like 20$ a month to say a 5000$ creditor and ask them for documentation that you pay as per agreement you can easily get a loan. Hey I did it they just want to see that you pay something.
