How serious is 1% of total grade?

Post by suchana » Fri Oct 03, 2014 2:00 pm

There is a compliance requirement. If the signed compliance is not turned in when it's due, there will be a 1% off the total grade. Since everything is on the curve, I think I'm overly anxious/nervous/worried about anything that mentions grade.......I think even 1% matters....
So, what's the significance of 1% of total grade?
Thank you.

It depends how tight the curve is right? If it's a loose curve with grades that normally vary between D's and A's it would matter a lot less than say a school that has an average grade of a B+ with the # of A's and B's defining your class rank.

While you can actually make it 1% if you used statistics, I wouldn't trust a professor to do it correctly.

If professor gives an exam out of 99 points, and has this assignment be 1 point, he's probably fucking it up.

If the range of scores is 55-85 points, 1 point is worth a lot more than 1 percent.

I missed latin honors by .06. That will bug me for the rest of my life.

1% of your grade is worth the effort.

Off course it matters..especially when it has the potential to nag you for the rest of your life. But you are also not short of options to improve it. There is no point being anxious or stressed, just try to enhance them with smart work :)

It means that it will count 1/100th of your final grade.
