Do you ever see someone out-success you...

Post by Kafkaesquire » Sat Jun 14, 2014 5:10 pm

...and want them to fail?

For example, "Someone I know just became a judicial intern at the SC of TX, and I want her to fail."

I remember in the Bible where it read "harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts" or something. James 3:14

This isn't controversial at all. Of course you want people to fail. I'm desperately routing against Lebron in the finals right now.

Edit: I should add, it shouldn't be solely because someone out successes you that you route against them but you might have other reasons relating to their terribleness as a person that cause you to route against them or at least take satisfaction in their failures.

There are definitely people who are terrible enough that I want them to fail. But an internship doesn't exactly inspire that feeling in me.
