Excel was designed to be easy for people to learn and use proficiently. If you know how to use Word, you already have a headstart on understanding its interface.

Your options:
A) There are thousands of tutorials for using Excel on the Internet - skim/read one of these and practice before the interview.
B) As a humanities major, you learned how to learn. You can easily learn how to use Excel on the job and not be a hinderance to the firm.

If you can't learn Excel via tutorial or practicing on the job, you are technologically illiterate.
