NPV Estimate Help

Postby westjr » Fri Sep 13, 2013 11:48 am

I'm trying to run a NPV estimate for different law school/non-law school employment outcomes.

I need to come up with a *conservative* estimate for salary, assuming biglaw for 3, 4, or 5 years, for in-house counsel or for a lateral move to a mid-size regional firm. Basically, that's six scenarios, but I assume some of those will be interchangeable..

I'm trying to forecast ten years out of law school, which is crazy and impossible to determine, but I just want to try my best to quantify some options.

that's kinda hard, You'd have to assume you're gonna make either constant growth in income, or there's no drastic change.

Also depends on inflation over the next 10yrs, and whatever discount factor you're gonna use.
