Just admitted at NYU for transfer admission. I really don't know where to start with finding an apartment. I'm reading stories about paying brokers 1.8 times monthly rent--does everyone do this?
I have a spouse, and would really like two real bedrooms, can spend up to $3500/month. The 40 times rent income requirement isn't a problem. We like financial district. Any advice?

Do you have an email account yet? Ask me how to get into the listserv (Coases). People advertise space there.

It shouldn't be too tough, but you will need some up-front money. I've seen dozens of nice 2brs in your price range on street easy
