Changing Cities After Working in Biglaw (Specifically NY)

Hey guys,

So I was wondering if anyone had any insight or experience regarding lateraling or going in house from one city to another.
I am particularly interested in going from NYC biglaw to CA.
I'll be going to CLS in the fall and will be going for biglaw in LA, however I was wondering how difficult it could be to go from a good firm in NY to an in-house gig somewhere else.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
