question regarding transfers

Ive been accepted this cycle to a school in the 20s (25-29), which isnt drastically a lot lower than the Top 14. My LSAT is in the 170s, so I really cant raise it and my gpa is locked, so because Top 14 is my goal, the only way I can achieve that is finding a way to do well 1L, of course I dont expect it to be likely it will pan out and will be happy at my school I was admitted to.

But it made me curious, you know how they say the higher ranking of your school, the worst you can rank 1L.

Well I know from a Tier 2, they say for people to be in the Top 5 percent to transfer to a T 14

But from a 25-29 school, would you say someone needed to be 5 percent as well OR can it even be top 10-20 percent if school is in the 20s?

No reason to be thinking about transferring right now. You need at least one semester of 1L grades before this even becomes a possibility.

I'm bored so I'll answer your question anyway. You don't need to be in the top 5% to be competitive for transfer to the T14. Top 10% would probably gaurantee you something and top 15% would still be worth applying (may even snag an acceptance at GULC). The real question (depending on how high you finish) is whether a transfer is worth it at that point.
