Are any of the first year classes pass/fail? Do professors routinely give out C's? Just wondering on how the grading works at Duke. Any insight would be much appreciated!

- No classes 1L year are P/F (including LARW)
- There are no letter grades; grades are given out as a numerical figure
- If the equivalent of a "C" is a 2.0, then I have never heard of anyone getting that low of a grade (any grade lower than a 2.8 is discretion and at most 5% of the class can receive a grade of 2.7 or lower; I have personally only ever heard of one person getting a grade as low as a 2.6 once, which I think is because most professors cap their lowest grade at 2.8 for the most part)

So, the median of the class is 3.x? I know Duke has great employment numbers, trying to figure out where one would need to be in order to get a great job (biglaw or at least high paying).

The median is a 3.3 but the mean is probably higher. If you want to talk about employment related things, you can PM me.
