I love the subtle school name drop, as if the dress requirements would be any different amongst various law schools.

Not joking, but how have you reached the ripe old age of 22(+) without a blazer?

Bildungsroman wrote:I didn't own a blue blazer my first quarter at UChicago and it was a disaster. I was out of place at blazer-only events and restaurants and was never invited back, my professors constantly passed me over for my blazered chums (even those braniacs in their tweed jackets), and the squash team didn't even put me on their mailing list. But that all changed when I bought a Joseph A. Bank Executive 2-Button Wool Blazer, navy with gold buttons. Now I've been selected to head the law school's vessel in the T6 yachting competition and my professors have sometimes returned my "A" grades before I've even finished the final exam. With its subtle dignity and traditional class, Joseph A. Bank's Executive 2-Button Wool Blazer exudes an air of easy confidence. Throw it on over a pink shirt and a pair of tan slacks for a day at the golf club, or pair it with white linen pants for a summer night on the marina with your best gal.

If the buttons aren't platinum, you're probably only V50 secure...

If you don't own a blazer, you can hardly call yourself a man.

Of course you do. What are you going to wear on a day where it's too warm for coat, but still too chilly to just wear a shirt? Fall is why blazers exist.

Or you could just get a light jacket and not look like you're trying too hard.

But seriously, a blazer is a light jacket.

I think it's important to draw a distinction between blue blazers and other kinds of sport coat.

A blue blazer, particularly with brass buttons, makes you look like an insufferable cuntry club member. I have one, and every once in a while I'll think, "Hey, maybe I should try wearing that blazer today. Everyone's always saying they're so versatile." And then I put it on, look in the mirror, and rip it off my body and hurl it across the room.

Sport coats are cool though. Corduroy, tweed, etc. Solid Fall attire.

I NEED to know how OP's Fall Semester at his CCN is going in light of his July decision to purchase the Brooks Brothers Navy 2 button blazer with gold buttons.
