John Paul Stevens went to NW. Clearly, if he has any confidence whatsoever, it's mere puffery. Imagine the person he could have been had he gone to YHS!

I thought it was well-written. From a purely (albeit admittedly-subjective) artistic standpoint.

Paradoxically, it made me like Harvard more.

Not everyone who goes to Harvard is a savant with a dream. In fact, almost no one is. The author makes it into this dreamworld and then brings it crashing down, but it was never a dreamworld. It was a professional school for people who get certain marks on certain tests and courses.

Well, they left out the part where Greg Giraldo overdosed and died.

It just annoyed me. Particularly the hippie chick who was all "I can't believe I wasn't able to change the woooooorld. All I did was completely sacrifice my career goals to child-rearing and supporting my husband. Why can't I both be exactly like everybody else and accomplish more than they do? :(:(:("

The only people to whom the law school you attend will make a difference in romantic terms are other super weird law school types. Generally, no one gives a fuck, or frankly even knows that it's supposed to be an "accomplishment" to go to certain schools.

I suffered through the entire article. It is a terrible article.

Along the side, there is a video of a blonde woman with a caption that says, "Me in my place" and "Underwear Confessions." I think that pretty much sums of my impression of the integrity and self-respect that the article has.

I would say more on the actual topic (such as it is), but I think I've put most of my useful impressions as a 1L at HLS in the Harvard thread.
