Hello from UConn, fellow non-Yale nutmeggers! There seem to be very few Quinnipiac students on TLS. I would like to talk to some of you in order to:

1) Make friends!
2) Compare/contrast the law school experience with UConn
3) Possibly share OCI/employment info for our common benefit.

It's silly that we're both in this tiny state but we never talk. :D Are any of you out there? Post here or PM me directly!

Quinnipiac is a very small school. Thus, it isn't surprising that you haven't gotten any responses. I did check it out for my son and was impressed with the surroundings and offerings and the facilities. Moreover, it had one of the best student faculty ratios that I have seen. Certainly it was up with the very top schools as to student faculty ratio. However, I don't recommend it for several reasons:

1. You are competing in New England with many other better known schools. This will make getting a job from there very tough.
2. It has NO name recognition outside of New England.
3. It is very expensive! Someone has to pay for the great student faculty ratio.
4. If you check out Ratemyprofessor.com , it really doesn't have a great overall rating for professors even when compared to other law schools. You can take that site as you wish.
5. Getting a job from any law school that isn't tier 1, and preferably in top 10 is going to be tough. Last I looked. Quinnipiac is a tier 3 school. It may be among the top of the tier 3's,but it is still tier 3. Good luck getting a job from there.

I think the OP is at UConn and wants to make friends outside of UConn.

I'm currently applying to both UConn and Quinnipiac, so there's a good chance I'll be in Ct. My biggest concern is what to do with my limited 1L time if I do go to Quinnipiac, although I guess visiting you guys at UConn is a possibility.
