Is this the NoMa district? Is it generally viewed as being pretty safe/pleasant?hipstermafia wrote:I don't know anything about those apartments specifically, but they are in a neighborhood that is undergoing a lot of change and commercialization (for the better I think). There is a new Harris Teeter grocery store and a few restaurants a few blocks north of there (M and 1st i think), and union station/gulc are certainly within walking distance.Marionberry wrote:Anyone know anything about the Loree Grand apartments?

Re: Georgetown 1L(s) Taking Questions
Thanks for taking questions! I have a couple if you don't mind.
1. Does the large class size negatively affect employment prospects?
2. About what proportion of students are able to land non-diversity 1L SA positions?
3. How did you go about studying fall semester?
4. Do most 1Ls work in their home region (where they grew up) for 1L summer and is that
what you're planning to do? Also, about what percentage of people have taken unpaid positions
for the summer? How difficult is it to obtain summer funding for unpaid work?
5. When did you apply in the cycle and how long did the decision process take?
6. Were you a splitter, above both medians etc.?
Sorry for all the questions, but these are really weighing on my mind. Thank you for all your help!

Yep, that would be in noma (which stands for north of massachusetts). I honestly don't know anyone who lives there (probably due in part to the neighborhood just recently developing), but I think it's pretty safe and pleasant. I live probably a mile south of there and it's great but much more residential. The area around Loree Grand has businesses/shopping that we don't really have here. In fact i go there to do my grocery shoppingMarionberry wrote:Is this the NoMa district? How is the area around Stanton park? It seems reasonably priced and close enough to the school.

It's safe. Not much in the way of food and all that but I walk through there late at night all the time.Marionberry wrote:How is the area around Stanton park? It seems reasonably priced and close enough to the school.

What does the typical fall 1L schedule look like? Class MTWThF? 8ams?

Did any of you take Curriculum B? Or do you know people that love/regret doing so?
