Really don't know how I'm a leader of some "gunner revival." The shit that keeps me busy these days is not class related and I haven't really read for class since Fall 2L.

Perhaps it is your class generally, although I recall trying to get you to party at some points and you responding with a look that made you appear as though you just sat on one of your balls.

It depends on your preference. Some people like roommates and some do not. I would say having another law student as a roommate can be good for social entree, but at the same time, a non-law student roommate might give you a refreshing dose of normal sometimes.

No easy way to answer this…..so many variables: your personality, sleep habits, personal finance, hygiene, etc. Obvious pro is saving $$$, obvious con is mismatch with roommate (you can see from TSL threads that, more than any other place, law school draws a whole lot of weirdos). I’d suggest you attend NU’s Admitted Student Day to help you decide (or go onto ASD blogs, if there are any)..

I think I'm gonna go ahead and take offense to this. ;)

I got a rando roommate on craigslist, and it's been great. Maybe I lucked out since he's normal, but I pay $800 in rent and have an easy way to escape the law school bubble. It takes me about 20-25 mins door-to-door in the morning, but I think it's worth it to get away from the grades/ classes echo chamber.

20-25 mins? That's not bad. Any neighborhood recommendations? I am dying to attend ASW, but an AmeriCorps stipend is an AmeriCorps stipend, so I might be looking to you all for insider info.

From Ukrainian village, you can get on the 66 bus to Streeterville. West town, you can hop on the 65. Both are super easy and the rents are cheap (not Pilsen cheap, but solid). They're both close to Wicker Park, which is basically the Williamsburg of Chicago. So you can go less than a mile north and have some fun in a place that isn't Shiterville.

A lot of people live north in Lincoln Park, Wrigley, Lakeview, etc. If you live close to the red line you can go basically as far north as you want and still have a pretty easy commute.

The express buses also make the commute from the north quick. 143, 146, 147, 148. When I was looking originally I was just concerned about the red line, but the buses are easier for a lot of places.

Lakeview near the express busses has been great. I take the 146/148 directly to school and over the summer took the 135 direct to work. In lake view, north of Belmont and close to the lake is super convenient.

Thanks, all! I'm thinking that these northerly options are realistic, as I don't expect to have a vehicle.

Just for the pleasure of taking the test.

Soooo.......how many of uis are gonna be future doners? Dare we dream of future success so great that we can hand off a mill?

Even if I am that successful there are a lot of things I'd rather give money to than a law school.

I'll never have enough money to donate, but if I did: maybe some. I enjoyed my time at NU, and even though I've had a hard time, I think it has done a lot of people a lot of good.

For some reason, I feel like zero loyalty to NU... if I had the money to donate, I'd definitely give to my undergrad before law school.

If I can I think I'll donate at some point, but I'd do something like donate to a fund earmarked for student schollys or something, not tech for a room.
