I've heard differing things on this, and the consensus seems to be that this is not the case. The more I learn about Chi and visit, the more I love it though. We'll see if I'm still saying that come winter, but yeah...
I would like to register my vote for "I think just coming to Northwestern is a pretty solid chicago tie."

Is your consensus coming from 0Ls or from Northwestern 2Ls and 3Ls?

If anyone asks, just lie and say you are only bidding chicago.

I've seen him twice and both times there was open bar.

Boo is more dangerous when you can't see him.

I figure that's going to be my SOP for any interview. "But of COURSE I'm only bidding [your city]! I LOVE [your city] and couldn't imagine living anywhere else!"

Two things that worked for me:

1. Anything midwest: "I understand the culture here. The coasts are foreign to me, and I appreciate the midwest ideal of being a hard worker."
2. Anything coast: "I've grown tired of the culture in the midwest. I feel like I am stuck in the past, and to put it plainly: I am tired of it. I want to go some place that values progress and being on the cutting edge of stuff."

Then go home, and relax your jaw from giving all those jibbers.

3. Denver: "I like snow and pot"?

(I actually have never smoked pot.)

I know, right?

It's not that I am anti-pot; I'm hugely anti-smoking anything. I have a bit of a phobia about inhaling anything besides fresh air. I won't scuba dive, I don't like having my neckwarmer over my mouth when I snowboard, and I never sleep with my face completely under the covers in bed.

I imagine if you're diligent enough you can scour bjs' old post and find an accounting of the benefits of this technique...or just ask him.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
