So I have a couple questions about OCI writing samples:

1. How important are they/closely do interviewers read them?

2. Is it okay to double side it so as not to destroy an entire forest when printing and copying it?

Do screeners even ask about it or is this more of a CB concern, don't we give them our samples at the screener?

Yeah, we give them to the screener.

Yeah, we give them to the screener.

right. so they're obviously not going to read them at that point, no? -> a CB concern? (also I realize I'm not answering your questions).

Right, but my question is more how important they become during the CB, if at all.

And no, you are not answering my questions

hey i was wondering if anyone has any experience renting textbooks from amazon.com? it seems really cheap... does anyone actually keep their books, or does everyone sell them back or to new students after the semester is up? is it distracting or annoying that other people have used/highlighted/written in them? are there any advantages to buying used over renting used?

Hey Guys,

I'm a lowly incoming 1L (Class of 2015).........Just found out I've got Tim Brennan for Contracts and T. Grove for CivPro. OutlineDepot only has Brenna as having taught Tax, and nothing on Grove (probably new). Any of you post-iL's ever had them for these courses?

My section mates and I would appreciate any help............ Thanks.

Protip: Don't rely on a site called "OutlineDepot"

I only know people who have had Brennan for tax, he hasn't taught contracts since 2009.

Grove must be new because s/he is not even on the school's website.

You present a false choice. I haven't bought all the required books since first semester.

I don't know why I ever bought an Admin book. I literally never read a page of it.

1st semester, do it. You need to get settled in and figure out your way of doing things. Second semester, you kinda learn what you need.

I disagree. Get all of the required books, but don't bother with "recommended" books unless you feel like you need them later in the semester.

I still cannot believe that we both attended so few classes that we never went on the same day.

I'd see what floats around, but Outline Depot is alright, but plenty of it is shit, pure shit.

I would use either the SFPIF outline bank, or ask a rising 2L/3L for an outline.

Before you ask: http://www.law.northwestern.edu/sfpif/m ... ebank.html

This. It's how I got all my outlines. And make friends with classmates since they will probably have other 2Ls/3Ls they know and you can see a few different examples.

Your TA will most likely also send you an outline. If you have Bennett for contracts I'm pretty sure he's using the same TA we had. She was great and incredibly helpful. Use her as a resource.

The problem is, the 1L has profs for whom there won't be outlines floating around the 2L/3L student body. Otherwise, that advice would be solid. Fortunately all my 1L profs had very recent outlines floating around my upper class peers.
