Not to complain too much, but I feel like the admin at this school is generally of lower quality then what I was expecting. Perhaps that is my fault for having expectations of anything resembling competence given the sticker price, but screw me right? I don't really care that grades aren't out, even though they take longer than they should given the almost 6 full days since grades were ready for input. But combine that with the handful of tech issues, the multiple test mistakes throughout the year including entirely wrong final exams only noticed after the first hour was done, the multiple horror-stories about how next to impossible it is to deal with insurance issues, or the fact that I can be sure whenever there will be a big paper due, or finals coming up, we will have needless training sessions in the only room in the school with no internet, and well...
I guess I do mean to complain. I'm sure if my grades are good I'll only spout positives. AND I'm sure that most, if not all, peer schools suffer from this same set of problems. It's just no one will ever complain (or enough people wont) because no one wants to be THAT GUY. I have no doubt these admin's work hard, but its just surprising to me.
Has it just been a bad year? Am I just having a particularly bad and thus shaded experience? I LOVE the classes, the work, the professors, etc.
You are not imagining things. The school is run worse than a government agency (and far worse than the Illinois DMV surprisingly). Many others have noticed it.
Still, not a bad place to get an education.
Yeah, like I said, great professors and stuff. I honestly wanted to get a letter written, grievances and suggested solutions basically, and make it constructive, get 100+ signatures, and submit it to the new dean. I know SBA is there for this, but given that I'm all the way through 1L and still don't know what they do, I don't know if thats the way to go.
