Not to complain too much, but I feel like the admin at this school is generally of lower quality then what I was expecting. Perhaps that is my fault for having expectations of anything resembling competence given the sticker price, but screw me right? I don't really care that grades aren't out, even though they take longer than they should given the almost 6 full days since grades were ready for input. But combine that with the handful of tech issues, the multiple test mistakes throughout the year including entirely wrong final exams only noticed after the first hour was done, the multiple horror-stories about how next to impossible it is to deal with insurance issues, or the fact that I can be sure whenever there will be a big paper due, or finals coming up, we will have needless training sessions in the only room in the school with no internet, and well...

I guess I do mean to complain. I'm sure if my grades are good I'll only spout positives. AND I'm sure that most, if not all, peer schools suffer from this same set of problems. It's just no one will ever complain (or enough people wont) because no one wants to be THAT GUY. I have no doubt these admin's work hard, but its just surprising to me.

Has it just been a bad year? Am I just having a particularly bad and thus shaded experience? I LOVE the classes, the work, the professors, etc.

You are not imagining things. The school is run worse than a government agency (and far worse than the Illinois DMV surprisingly). Many others have noticed it.

Still, not a bad place to get an education.

Yeah, like I said, great professors and stuff. I honestly wanted to get a letter written, grievances and suggested solutions basically, and make it constructive, get 100+ signatures, and submit it to the new dean. I know SBA is there for this, but given that I'm all the way through 1L and still don't know what they do, I don't know if thats the way to go.

You mean you didn't think having 40% of the exam on 2.5 days of class wasn't reflective of the class focus?

My favorite was how the review power point said to know homicide grading cold and it didn't come up.

You are daring fate to have someone say, "yes it was." Don't discuss exams bro.

I heart prof. glazer

As a person, I agree. Glazer is a great human being who cares about students. But I'd rather have a complete a&&hat nasty human being teaching me so long as they actual teach the material.

In my defense, I'd be hard pressed to feel worse about that exam

You obviously missed getting Scooter Libby for felony murder via the responsible corporate officer doctrine.

Speaking of exams, in my three years at NU this is the latest that I remember grades coming out! Moy is terrible!

Yo Chadwick! I actually like Moy. He has been one of the few bright-ish spots about the admin, IMO. I'm guessing he is under the instruction of someone higher than him that is actually responsible for the delay.

Or we could just pick the easy target and blame Cliff.

What are the odds that Cliff's office number is still being forwarded to his cell...someone should call.

Tell him your fee fees will be hurt if you don't get your grades soon.

You are right. I'll admit, Moy has been pretty responsive every time that I've needed help. Sadly, he remains the administration's puppet at the end of the day.

All schools suck at getting back grades. Our s is the least bad. They all come out all almost at the same time. Much better than slowly over a month.

Clearly checking grades isn't super easy, and the time it takes varies each year. Better off not giving us a heads up so we don't sit and worry.

Not knowing is better.

Northwestern usually gets them in within a week of their being due, and posts them over a half ours hour. That's amazing. At UVA, they trickle in over the space of weeks.

I have fellow interns from Berkeley and Duke that are dealing with the trickling. Both are waiting for 1 grade still I think.

How late did they come out in January for Fall 2011? For some reason, my recollection seems to be around 9:30 ...

Right at the end of lawyers as problem solvers. So maybe 8 assuming it started at 6.

It hit my gmail at 9. So 8:30ish when they started to trickle out I'd guess.

Mine posted around 6. Had a night class and heard someone say "Grades are starting to come out." Email didn't come out till 9 because there were night classes that night i'm guessing.

It's definitely late. Spring 2010 and Spring 2011 were both exactly 28 days after the last exam day.
