I know this is a late response, but you absolutely don't need an outline for this class. If you showed up to the classes and have general common sense, you will be fine for the final exam. It's still taught by Salpeter right?

Cool cool thanks a bunch.

Also, the cryptic "there will be changes in your tuition" statement. Let's discuss the possibilities. Also, what are you all going to do with your newfound wealth.

General strategy for those seeking uncurved classes seems to be:

Search TLS for classes that are historically uncurved
Place bids accordingly
Monitor total number of students enrolled in each class to see if it will be uncurved, and drop accordingly

Am I missing somethin'?

My goal: 2 electives with the easiest As, without regard to how interesting or relevant the material is to me.

It can change based on the professor and randomness. I waited until everyone else had picked classes so I could see what was still under 40. Are there any classes 1Ls are allowed to sign up for that are capped under 40? If not, then take your sweet time figuring out what to take.

As in don't bid right away or don't confirm enrollment in the course right away? Prob dumb question b/c I imagine you have to bid in order to see the numbers for each course.

Others can chime in, but what I did is not sign up until January and it worked out great.

ETA: You can see how many people are in a section after round 2 of bidding, and then you can also see when you register for a class in January. When January comes and you know for sure which classes will be uncurved, you can come back here to get recommendations about which professors are generous graders. Good luck this fall!

I wouldn't suggest doing this. At least bid for classes that you are interested in taking but might fill up. Classes only cost any bid points if more people bid for the class then there are seats available. So at least bid for classes like BA to have a seat reserved in case the uncurved class you wanted isn't available, otherwise you will end up in a class you wouldn't want to take under any condition instead of a class you would've wanted to take if it were uncurved.

Other than that, this is a fine strategy. The classes I ended up taking, I could've waited for open enrollment to register in.

Do not take BA as a 1L. It's always curved and filled with gunner 1Ls.

Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere in the thread:

How would you describe the student life and culture to a prospective applicant? I visited the school, but got mixed answers about the impacts of the relatively large number of older students and the urban environment. Are people generally as social as their counterparts at other T14s? Does the number of students with existing ties to Chicago change the dynamic at all?
