Well, I'd see one and think, yeah it makes sense that chicks would post boobage when that guy asks, then look at another and think how lulzy it would be if that guy was getting on the social lounge boobage...then my "real student" for lunch was a little jaded/harsh and I thought, it could be that guy (but he was a 3l)FiveSermon wrote:Every dood was that insanely awesome?homestyle28 wrote:I kept thinking during the sit in on a class thing, that every dude was DF and every chick was HGLFiveSermon wrote:What's Desert Fox's:

Think I may have said it before, but just wanted to say again: love the thread title. That's great about the challenges
I am curious what percentage of the class you would estimate is from IL originally, and also what percentage of the class stays in IL to work?

Maybe 20% are from IL, another 10% from the midwest. My class has a shitload of California people in it. This year for the first time Midwesterns aren't the plurality.Lawquacious wrote:Think I may have said it before, but just wanted to say again: love the thread title. That's great about the challenges

Midwest 27%
Northeast 28%
West 28%
South 14%
International 3%
So we got a good mix.
At a career services meeting, they told us about 80 people go into Chicago biglaw each year.

Re: Northwestern Students Taking Questions and Challenges
Northwestern posted very detailed salary stats for C/O 2009: http://www.law.northwestern.edu/career/statistics/. Scroll down until the end. Out of 260 graduates total:
163 (63%) reported a salary of $160k.
19 (7.3%) reported a salary between $120k and $160k.
43 (16.5%) reported a salary of below $60k.
Only 3 people reported a salary between $60k and $120k.
9% of folks did a clerkship, which accounts for more than half the below $60k salaries.
Of course none of this is relevant to incoming 1Ls because it only slightly reflects ITE (C/O 2009 suffered from some rescinded full-time offers). But it does show a couple of interesting things:
1) Pre-ITE, the T14 could place probably 85% if not more of their class into biglaw.
2) There are no midlaw jobs between $60k and $120k.
3) Y'all should've been born a couple of years earlier.

I went 120 for the weekend. My strategy was to find Northwestern students who are hilarious and smart and like to drink. This does not narrow it down.EarlCat wrote:Did you miss the bonus? Re: Northwestern Students Taking Questions and Challenges
Cool- thx. That reflects a pretty even distribution by region. I suppose that prob is to be expected of 'national schools' (i.e. traditional T14), though I would think sometimes a slight regional selection bias could still be found.Desert Fox wrote:Maybe 20% are from IL, another 10% from the midwest.
