I have a copy of it if you want it, let me know. Dave in CSO told me it wasn't that accurate as they didn't have great response rates in the years that are included. He also said they'd put up a new one sometime in June.
I'd actually be interested in seeing it, even if it is out of date/incomplete.

I think last spring was the 4:30 one? I remember still being at my summer job.
I highly doubt they're coming out yet today. I'm pretty sure the times Rayiner is quoting are the times the announcement email was sent out. In actuality, the grades generally start populating, class by class, hours before the announcement email ultimately gets sent. I don't think I've ever seen them get started this late in the day, and as of now all my classes are blank. Not sure what the hold-up is, but I'm getting antsy...

New Theory: some prof/class seriously botched the curve to unprecedented levels.

If that's the case, I have a guess for who it is. Starts with a J and ends with oshua Kleinfeld.

Nope. They trickle out over 30 min. Fall 2010 the grades didn't start coming out until 8:30-9.

If a prof fucks up they just hold that classes grades. every semester several classes have to wait for their grades.

What was the source of the Monday rumor?

Also, they trickle out over 30 min to an hour.

yeah I just didn't want to say it...maybe if the entire final hadn't been on larceny it would've been easier to grade.

Not to complain too much, but I feel like the admin at this school is generally of lower quality then what I was expecting. Perhaps that is my fault for having expectations of anything resembling competence given the sticker price, but screw me right? I don't really care that grades aren't out, even though they take longer than they should given the almost 6 full days since grades were ready for input. But combine that with the handful of tech issues, the multiple test mistakes throughout the year including entirely wrong final exams only noticed after the first hour was done, the multiple horror-stories about how next to impossible it is to deal with insurance issues, or the fact that I can be sure whenever there will be a big paper due, or finals coming up, we will have needless training sessions in the only room in the school with no internet, and well...

I guess I do mean to complain. I'm sure if my grades are good I'll only spout positives. AND I'm sure that most, if not all, peer schools suffer from this same set of problems. It's just no one will ever complain (or enough people wont) because no one wants to be THAT GUY. I have no doubt these admin's work hard, but its just surprising to me.

Has it just been a bad year? Am I just having a particularly bad and thus shaded experience? I LOVE the classes, the work, the professors, etc.

Truth is, I love that guy, and it was his first time teaching, and OTHER new profs (who shall remain nameless) have done worse that section alone. But even I can't excuse some of the minor mistakes that were really huge screw-ups. Better luck next semester I guess. I expect his student reviews to be a nice mix of "Awesome!" and "Awful".

Mine falls into the category of "you're a bad person and you should feel bad." Liked his lectures generally--they were clear and well organized. Outside of that, he was terrible at everything else

My understanding is that it's always been this way...there's really no good reason not to have the date's grades are due from profs on the academic calendar and to let us know when we might reasonably expect grades...it's a basic tenet of customer service that people waiting on something are happier when they're told how long they have to wait.

Somebody should make this an SBA platform

That test. No one ever talks about tests (at least of those I usually talk to) but everyone was arguing on that one. I have to say, I think universally people thought it was insanely difficult. MAYBE a first time prof shouldn't give a closed note final with questions many of us couldn't answer even with our notes in hand.

general +1 to this...I liked him and his approach fine, but the poor communication/administration seriously hurts my take on the class. (Also, how did no one die on the final exam?)

How did I not know you were in my section until now? my utter failure to be social this year is likely to blame.

You are not imagining things. The school is run worse than a government agency (and far worse than the Illinois DMV surprisingly). Many others have noticed it.

Still, not a bad place to get an education.

I really can't argue with that. I also liked some non-class discussions and stuff. But he came off as nasty when he was trying to be nice and too nice when trying to be harsh. Hard guy to read. I think its the jitters.

At least we learned more than 1/3rd of the syllabus.

You mean you didn't think having 40% of the exam on 2.5 days of class wasn't reflective of the class focus?

Yeah, glazer got the flip review from me. Didn't know how to lead a class discussion without letting it get away from her. But she cared about the class and it showed.

My favorite was how the review power point said to know homicide grading cold and it didn't come up.

All schools suck at getting back grades. Our s is the least bad. They all come out all almost at the same time. Much better than slowly over a month.

Clearly checking grades isn't super easy, and the time it takes varies each year. Better off not giving us a heads up so we don't sit and worry.

Not knowing is better.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
