What did they say?

Email was from Lisa Burns, correcting the mistake she had made in her original email (when she said Wednesday, June 12). The thing was, she said she would email us when grades came out, so seeing her name in my inbox sent my pulse skyrocketing.

Anyone know what time grades usually come out? Is it a 12 noon thing, or should we expect to wait until 5?

It varies, but I think oftentimes it comes out in the early afternoon. The email about grades for graduating students came out shortly after 3 pm this past semester, but they were actually posted shortly before that.

Fall grades came out around 12 or 12:30

Helios tells me that 1L grades come out today. For basic grade information, check the OP (the first post in this topic). Also, look here for OCS's take.

And relax. Unless you have multiple LPs, you'll probably be fine getting a job at a place you like.

(Also, a typo in "place" got autocorrected to "palace." That too, if that's your thing.)

How many people usually get LPs in a 1L class?

I've heard anywhere from 0 to 7 with the mode probably being 0-2. They aren't really something to worry about it. I avoided them despite my best efforts and the one person I know for sure has one is at a V10 now.

Ehh I personally subscribe to the strategy of putting in moderate effort and getting a random mix of P/H/DS

2L checking in still missing a grade. This is getting comical.

Is it a grade from a professor notorious for turning in grades late?

If there are any D.C. summer associates/associates, it would be helpful if you could answer questions in the EIP thread: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=230714.

Nope. I had took a previous lecture class with him where the grades were on time, but it's a really small seminar, so I doubt it's high on the priority list. I'll probably ask the registrar next week.

Me too. Although, I'm not surprised by it; if you're going to be ~10 minutes late to every class, then I certainly won't expect grades to be turned in on time. Especially because the paper deadline got extended by a week. Ahhhh!

I'm buying a new laptop for law school. I've always been a PC user, but considering getting a MacBook Air now. Any pros/cons to using either type at HLS?

Anyone know when law review decisions came out last summer? Also, do they send everyone a notice of acceptance/rejection, or do they only notify those who were accepted?

7/15 last year. You'll hear one way or the other.

I have no reason to think that people with any sorts of undergraduate majors are particularly disadvantaged in law school.

I came from an accounting background and only wrote three papers in all of college. LRW was a serious struggle for me because I had never had to organize my thoughts into paragraphs and pages but I didn't LP.

On the flip side, from what I can tell it seems people with science backgrounds dominate 1L IP SAs, so if you're interested in IP, it's a pretty god opportunity.

ETA: Also, every major will give some advantages or disadvantages. My background helped a lot in Torts and Contracts, and yours will likely come in handy too.

Exactly. You are fine. Just take good notes and put in a good faith effort. People at Harvard tend to stress too much, so it'll be good for both your health and (perhaps) your grades if you can cull that habit early.
