To anyone who is living / has lived in Regents and used the free internet service: what kind of modems work? I tried my modem and was unable to connect, and I'd rather go buy a compatible one then wait a week for a service appt. TYIA

Snail is def best for Pad Thai, probably also best red/green curry (though Thai 55 is alright too) but don't get their Pad Seeu. It's awful.

Noodles is the best Pad Seeu hands down.

No one really goes to Siam. I tried to do it for a while but other places do everything better.

It's a really nice day. It's not a terrible walk from regents if you live there.

Yeah I usually just walk to Snail and pick it up myself, especially if it's pretty out.

Have any of you been to the Hutchinson Commons to know if this is true?
It's true. It's garbage. Avoid Hutch at all costs.

For more explanation: Hutch is run by Aramark with other restaurants' logos/menus slapped on top. They used to have a passable Indian place and a mediocre BBQ joint but they're long gone.

Lol Hutch is not that bad. It's annoyingly busy with undergrads during main meal times, but I worked close to there and would go grab a late lunch sometimes. If you're on campus and need to eat, I think it's fine.

Chipotle is far superior, though.

I'll never agree. I used to like Hutch ok but I went again during OCI and it seemed to have gone downhill pretty hard from my UG days. Even the warmed-up delivery stuff at the other campus cafes is better.

Only going to go there if I don't have time to walk to Booth/Z&H/Med bakery, all of which are far superior. But that basically never happens being at the law school.

Reg I think the Chipotle/Qdoba debate isn't really the debate here, because the one in Hutch is not a real Qdoba. Be my guest and try it sometime. You'll understand.

FYI transfers I got poisoned by a snail Thai lunch. That was catered though, I'm sure their takeout is fine.

I got poisoned by a Mexican caterer too, forgot the name, starts with an M

Maravillas? One of two Mexican places in Hyde Park. Both are bad.

Hrm... I do not understand this. I mean, it is obviously personal preference, but what is it that people generally like more about Chipotle? I had both my hometown during college, and I always preferred Qdoba because of its queso.
I think Chipotle has better meats and salsas. Qdoba is fine though and I do like the queso.

Regulus you lived in a place that serves octopus testicles unironically. I don't take your option on Mexican food seriously.

I've found the Qdoba in Hutch to be the same as any other Qdoba. The other stuff there isn't good, though.

No one goes to Maravillas for the food.

After running into some last minute issues with Regent I am thinking of moving into something else, I got offered a pretty nice graduate housing on 60th and Ingleside, a block away from the law school. 6027 S Ingleside Ave to be exact. Every thing looks good with this apartment, but before I sign the lease, I just want to ask some questions, would this be a huge social disadvantage/inconvenience(as opposed to Regents)? Because I cant seem to find any nearby grocery stores, and it is moving slightly more south, which can be more dangerous?

Hyde Park has really mediocre food. Probably the only place I legitimately like is Seoul Corea or w/e. Salonica is pretty dece too I guess, though beep and I disagree on that.
