Let me rephrase:
How is your average joe (non-urm, liberal arts major, no WE) with median grades fairing at OCI?
It's hard to say, but the numbers are pretty good. 77% of the 2Ls are working at an NLJ250 firm, and another 8% are working at smaller firms. Likely somewhere in the range of 5-10% didn't apply for firm jobs. That leaves 5-10% of the class who wanted a firm job but didn't get one. From my experience, these people aren't necessarily bottom of the class—some are a good deal above median—but they are bad at interviews or simply had bad luck. So yes, the prospects are good for the average student.
That said, not all NLJ250 firms are created equal, and some non-NLJ250 firms are pretty bad and don't lead to offers. And some people got their jobs through mass mailing rather than through OCI. If you're around median, strongly consider mass mailing in a couple weeks.
