The syllabus indicates that he gives up to ten students up to three bonus points each for "excellent contributions in class." If anyone knows -- does he notify the recipients? And is it a system where each excellent contribution is one point and up to three are acknowledged, or is there a gradient of excellency in which two or three points may be earned for a more excellent contribution?

Thanks!

It's essentially a rating based on the aggregate quality/quantity of your contributions, and it's highly subjective. Unless he's changed his practice, he doesn't "notify" people how many points they received--it just gets lumped into your final grade. I know I got three points, but only because I talked to him after the exam and he explained how the grading worked.

Given how huge 3 points can be (in terms of the grading scale I was on, from 70-100), I was willing to contribute way more often than would normally be acceptable in law school. It probably didn't endear me to my peers, but I didn't do it in other classes, so hopefully they didn't judge me too harshly. But I will say, it's probably not worth gunning for those points unless you have a pretty good feel for what he wants to hear (and you get what's going on in class). One of my friends (she may chime in here, if she still checks these boards) spoke up pretty often, but she was never able to phrase ideas in the idiosyncratic way he wanted to hear them. I think he gave her 1 point.

Anyone have recommendations for Corporations supplements? Taking it with Sale if that matters, but even a general rec would be appreciated!

Just because professors don't have an express policy does not mean that they don't give participation points.

Anybody know anybody who had Drobak for Property? He spent half of class today talking about offer and acceptance (yes, he teaches Property), which I doubt will have anything to do with the exam. Any tips/pointers on this guy?

I think the last time he taught it was 2011-12. I've heard he's not as good as a Property prof (he's amazing for Antitrust and Fed Jur, and I've heard the same from people who had him for Civ Pro), but he's still an all-around awesome dude (and the crop of Property profs isn't particularly strong anyway).

Drobak for properties? Do you have any recommended supplements? In class he asks a lot of hypos but rarely shares his own opinions, nor does he ever really make declarative statements; do you know if he has specific preferences?

Also, many people recommend not using supps for Greenfield's contracts. How do you know for sure if you have the BLL right/rules right?

You don't need to read for LP or LRM.

This. The LP book is helpful though when you're actually writing your memos and briefs.

The only supplement I used was the Property E&E. Honestly, the exam was way less about memorizing lots of doctrine and more about ability to take law school exams (the same can be said of many exams). IMO, the material isn't that complicated, so just make sure you capture the rules the way he states them. Most people won't know how to take law school exams the first time around, so just make sure to get that skill down (easier said than done, obv).

I don't think a supplement would be particularly helpful for Greenfield. TD's advice is very relevant for both Drobak and Greenfield.

Definitely not c or d (torts crim and contracts )
I think not e or f either. But not sure. But some concepts of property were kinda mentioned in torts (chattel for example )

Aren't C and D the only ones with torts at all?
