I knew it was a lie when she said it because I'm still missing a grade.

Hey, credit where credit is due -they got it in under the wire.

I'm waiting for CErker1234 to come in here and tell the doubters to shove it.

Geez, the 3L class dropped from 286 students to 261. Is there usually that much attrition after 2L year?

The class of 2015 (current 2L) went from about 183 after their 1L year to 260 now. I'm guessing they didn't get 77 transfers in, so the difference must be based on how they define the 2L and 3L classes.

From the emails:

[The JD Class of 2015 includes students expecting to graduate in: August 2014, December 2014, May 2015, or later, who are also not part of the current first-year class.] (260 students)

[The JD Class of 2014 includes students expecting to graduate in May 2014, along with students who graduated in August 2013 and December 2013.] (261 students)

Now to royally screw up legal writing...again.

I don't know, I just get the feeling I can not do well at that class.

They should give us 4 credits for that class. It is just as much work if not more than some of the doctrinals. Prob twice as much work as Mandelker's property.

God no. It should be pass/fail like at most other schools.

This. Also it really isn't that much work. If you spent twice as much time on that as reading for Property (Mandelker gave us 20 pages a night last year), then you probably spent too much time on LP.

Is it not? I interviewed recently and asked about this, was told it was P/F

Do we have a permanent Dean yet?

Word around the campfire suggests that Keating will continue on.

The search committee is still identifying candidates with a goal of doing interviews by March.

Yea, this happened to the class ahead of us (I'm a 3L) too. Pretty sure this is when all of the dual degrees (JD/MBA and JD/MSW) switch over. It is usually accompanied by an increase in GPA bars for the 3L class (and decrease for the 2L class).

Thoughts on in living in CWE as a 1L without a car?

Doable but not optimal. Living in STL without a car period isn't great. If you do definitely try and get a roommate, and/or try to get a place relatively close to a metro stop.

Thanks for the responses. Browsing padmapper certainly kills time lol.

edit: Btw, what are the hours the metro runs?

Depends on the station, but generally ~4:30 AM - ~1:00 AM.

I got a car but no parking pass, and take the CWE metro everyday no problem. It's about 12-14 minutes to drive and park to and from school, and I got 23 minutes down to school from my front door. It's 11 minutes from my front door to the platform, leave 1-2 minutes early just in case, 7 minute ride, 4 minutes from the platform to the school. The trains are very surprisingly 95% on time, and never more than a minute or two off.

You lose 20 minutes a day, no traffic, a little bit of exercise, some social convos (I had people in my section on same train) and save a few hundred dollars a year. Maybe a couple thousand with parking pass, gas, insurance if you just don't have a car at all.

CWE also has Straubs, which I shop regularly for fresh meat and veggies (then go to Trader Joes in my car once a week)

It's doable, but I would be very good friends with someone with a car, or get a roommate with one.

STL isn't too bad without a car (except Soulard and a chunk of the Grove). Plus WUSTL has a car share program you can sign up for where you basically rent a car at $5 an hour if you need one for a particular reason, like buying a bunch of crap at once when you move into your apartment.

I appreciate the details. Will definitely have to look into this more since I don't believe I'll have a car there.

I have a car, so this doesn't really affect me, but I'm impressed with the idea and implementation. There's a lot of shit you can't do in the midwest without a car, and a painless, short-term rental option for students is pretty awesome.

Does WUSTL interview all applicants? If not, what does it mean to be asked/not asked to interview?
