The kool-aid loses some of its potency once you've been here a while. But it probably is a good school, all things considered.

+1. If the school had better placement and/or the economy didn't suck so bad, I think I'd still be crazy high on the school. I've found that just about everything here is pretty top notch (profs, education, administration, social scene, campus, clinic/externship opportunities, etc.) but the reason you go to law school is to get a job. I think most people would trade all that stuff and go to school in a cardboard box if it meant quality employment.

I have a question about the WUSTL financial aid form. The very first question asks for academic year. The first choice is 2014, there is no 2013. Are they maybe asking for my year of graduation, which would be 2016?

Awesome. A huge rankings drop is just what I need right before I send out my clerkship apps. No one try telling me judges don't care. I won't be reasoned with.

You guys seriously are dropping despite posting (relatively) accurate employment numbers a year before they were required?? Seriously??

Just wondering why you guys are assuming it's bad news? Is that usually why they call these things together?

What happened last year I believe. Timing is the issue. I don't see Wash U falling much though. I can't see some others just above us sustaining their rankings as well. Stay in top 25, I'm cool with whatever. up down a few spots isn't going to help me get a job.

Does he have access to the actual new rankings before everyone else? Or some of the data that goes into them (peer score, etc.)?

Doesn't sound terrible:
12 p.m., Crowder Courtyard (AB Hall, No. 301) All students are invited to the Second Annual Courtyard Conversation, a lunchtime discussion with school leadership and students. The event will feature Dean Kent Syverud, Vice Dean Melissa Waters Associate Dean Robert Kuehn, and Associate Dean Janet Laybold. Topics covered include new programs and innovations and an update on admissions and placement. Free pizza and beverages will be served!

Yes, because writing "Topics covered include tuition increases and USNEWS rankings drop" would have been better.

I'd be surprised if we drop again, personally. Though the lower 1L LSAT score can't help.

I agree. But I'll be far more pissed about a tuition increase than anything having to do with rankings.

By how much do they typically increase tuition each year?

I think like $1200-1500 in recent years. I don't pay all that much attention to it anymore. I just bend over and take it.

I guess that's my problem... I still protest, even though that probably just makes it better for WUSTL.
