Every applicant probably got the e-mail, but McGeorge now has a status checker. It is available at --LinkRemoved--. It's a little late for me though cuz I already got my decision :P

Mine says my file was complete on the 8th of January.

Does that mean they have already made a decision on my application?

And I have not heard anythign from them.. so does that mean I got rejected?

Call them and ask what it means.

Typically, "complete" means that all of your materials have been received and that your file is ready to be reviewed. Fomr the time you go complete, you'll hear back anywhere from a day to a few months.

Did get the email and checked their status checker for the first time - "decision rendered." Eek! I hope it's good news...now I just have to wait for my letter to get to the other side of the country.

I just sent my app in two weeks ago, went complete on tuesday and says decision rendered already. I have a 3.54, 165.
Kinda worried though because I sent in a personal statement a little over three pages and Im wondering if they auto rejected me for not following the 3 page limit instructions. anyone have any experience with this. And yes i know this was idiotic.

While I don't know for sure, with your numbers I think you should be fine. I was admitted with a 3.62, 164. It came with honors at entrance and an amazing scholarship. It seems as though they are looking for applicants with our numbers.

And to clarify the entire process (application to acceptance) took less than 2 weeks.

I got my acceptance from McGeorge today, with a bit of money to go along with it. Very pleased to have my first acceptance of the cycle, and this school will get serious consideration from me.

The hand-written note is a nice touch, I got that too. Classy on the part of McGeorge.

Yeah, I'd like more info on the placement of the campus in the city as well if anyone is willing!

The campus is in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento and is a high crime area. That said, I feel the campus itself is very safe. The public safety department patrols around and you can get a safety escort from the library to your car at night if you want.

It's fine to walk around the area during daylight like to go to a coffee shop, but I wouldn't venture from campus at night. I would not suggest living in Oak Park unless you are living on or immediately adjacent to campus. Also, don't park on the bridge that goes over the freeway. I know a couple people who had their cars broken into and one who had his car stolen.

Ipsa has it right on. I wouldn't wander the neighborhood at night, but the campus itself feels very safe. I actually live on campus and I've never had a problem. Several of us walk to the nearby Starbucks in the morning/afternoon. I wouldn't walk there after dark though. That said, I just keep an eye on my surroundings.

My on-campus apartment feels very safe...but if I were to move out I wouldn't live in Oak Park.

Thanks for the info on the area surrounding McGeorge. I was accepted into their PT program and was wondering how safe the area is at night. Will I be able to find a parking spot on campus in the evening? I cruised by the campus over the Christmas holiday and the area looked ok (during the day), but my husband was concerned when we spotted some police cars that had pulled over some shady characters not too far from McGeorge. The fact that students live on-campus makes me feel better, but I just don't want to be stuck parking far away from the campus since I'll be attending class at night.

Oh yeah, I've been a lurker on TLS for a little while now, and this thread has been very helpful to me. I appreciate all of the posters on here as I have gained a lot of valuable information about McGeorge. It seems like a great school! :D

As far as night parking, the area gets pretty empty in the evening. You should be able to park next to the campus on most days.

I've said this in other threads, but the great thing about Sacto is the fact that you can live within 2 miles of McGeorge and be in really great places: Land Park, downtown, midtown, Tahoe Park, etc. Cost of living is moderate in all those areas.

I'm not in the PT program so I am unsure of the parking situation. It would depend on how many FT students are still around when PT students need to park (I have observed cars hovering about looking for spots when I leave campus some days at little after 6:00.) You may need to park on the street, which should be okay in the immediate vicinity of campus.

As for walking back to your car at night, if you are heading to your car the same time everyone else in your class is, you will end up walking with others anyway (or could ask classmates to walk with you or call for a safety escort.)
