Received my scholly offer about 10 minutes ago, was part of the 03/19 admit wave.

Got just around what I expected, getting scared that I have to make a decision soon :?

Same here. How's Chicago with negotiating scholarship offers?

I'm also curious about this? Are they only likely to negotiate with offers from peer (CCN) schools, or do you think that offers from Penn and/or UVA would have a chance?

I'm wondering the same thing. I would go if they could at least match my UPenn scholly.

Also received scholarship information today. Fairly happy with the amount-it's more than I got from NYU (also received today). PM me for details!

There is a bit on negotiation here (see my post halfway down):

I also PMd with a few others who indicated that Chicago was fairly flexible.

I am! All of the events look great, and I'm hoping to get a start on my apartment search.

Me too. Trying to figure out how I can make both of them happen. (Got a flight out of a Midway 2 hours after the last one ends :P)

How do people go about leveraging a HYS acceptance to get more monies :o Is telling them that I've been accepted to a higher ranked school really a powerful bargaining chip or should I expect a large scholarship from lower T14 to work better (or perhaps I should mention both). Anyone ITT have any luck getting Chicago to up their offer based on a HYS acceptance?

If you say "I was accepted at X, a higher-ranked school, and I'd like to cash in my bargaining chip to see if Chicago is still interesting," no, it's not powerful at all. If you respond to your initial offer and persuasively convey why you are genuinely interested in Chicago alongside H/Y/S (noting you've been admitted), and that you also are considering some other schools (lower T-14 with larger awards) for financial reasons, you should get a good response.

Does anyone know when we will hear about where we are staying for ASW (for those of us who are staying with a current student)?

This might be a stupid question but is the scholarship email the only money we should expect? Because I know at Penn the Fin Aid email comes first, followed by merit aid. I assume that is not how it is with Chicago.

General rule of acceptable behavior: don't out anybody at ASW (it happens)

Isn't Chicago small enough that we don't need to make sub-groups like that?

Well folks, I withdrew my app after some serious anguish about pressing the "Send" button. I wish you all the best of luck with your remaining decisions! Chicago and the Doctoroff program seem like fantastic, rigorous opportunities.

Better rule of acceptable behavior: meet up, out yourself, make friends.

Did anyone else have to interview for the Doctoroff Program? If so, would you mind sharing how it went?
