Ya, I'm flying out of NY Thursday afternoon around 4PM to Chicago.

I'm leaving around 8:30 PM and landing around ten, I think, on Thursday. PM me for airports since there are six possible combinations here

Has anybody gone to one of the admitted student-alumni receptions? I just realized the invites don't mention the dress level. I'm assuming it's business attire (i.e. suit and tie), but maybe that's over-doing it. I'm looking forward to meeting everybody at either the reception or ASW.

Well it was spot on for the first round of offers. Hopefully they'll catch up.

Class of 2013 employment data looks even better than the Class of 2012, at least for my goals. Sorry, AIII seekers.

Full-time, long-term, bar passage required took a slight hit: 92.6% (199/215) vs. 94.9% (204/215) in 2012, but there are twice as many JD Advantage jobs represented (8 vs. 4), and the small sample size shows. Those damn graduate degree seekers screwed everything up (3 in 2013 vs. 1 in 2012).

The large firm (101+ attorneys) numbers look good: 62.3% (134/215) vs. 56.3% (121/215) in 2012.

Federal Clerkships took a hit: 10.2% (22/215) vs. 14.9% (32/215) in 2012.

Overall, 'desirable' outcomes (101+ firms and AIII clerkships) rose: 72.6% (156/215) vs. 71.2% (153/215) in 2012.

Obviously all of these swings seem more dramatic given UChi's small class sizes, but the important thing to note is the employment options are still stellar.

I've been getting a lot of PMs about my "good authority," so here it is: I was at an admitted student event and someone from the financial aid office gave us those dates.

I was happy to see things have gotten better.

I've read that Chicago does really well with small litigation boutiques. Those jobs wouldn't be represented in the biglaw figure because of the firm size. Is there any way to account for that?

Without salary data paired with each job, I don't think it's possible to differentiate small law and market-paying boutiques. FWIW, there was a 96% salary response rate which yielded median and 75th percentile salaries of $160k. 25th percentile was up as well, at $60k+.

Yea, I figured it would be difficult or impossible to account for with the information we have currently. In any case, the figures show last year's employment figures weren't a fluke.
