Half of the construction budget for that new reading room went to ventilation.feralinfant wrote:whatever warm and fuzzy lighting berkeley has is surely undermined by the smell of hippies.

Does anyone know if NU fin aid will reconsider you for scholly if you've received grants from another school (and not a merit scholly?). TIA.

Yes. Most schools I've applied to don't separate the grant award from the merit scholarship. They award one lump sum, so it's not like NU would know what money came from which pot. If you write a good essay in their reconsideration form, I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem matching.BA414 wrote:Does anyone know if NU fin aid will reconsider you for scholly if you've received grants from another school (and not a merit scholly?). For those of you trying to decide what neighborhood to live in, this sums up prices and stereotypes pretty well: http://chicago.curbed.com/archives/2014 ... typing.php

Totally depends on you, your roommate, and the relationship between you.somuchwaiting wrote:What are everyone's thoughts on having a roommate(s) during 1L year?
Living with another law student might lock you both in an infinite feedback loop of 1L anxiety, or you might get along well because you're going through the same things.
A non-law student roomie might not be tolerant when your schedule gets suddenly REALLY FUCKING STRESSFUL periodically, or they might give you a link to the normal world.
I hadn't lived with anyone for almost 10 years and figured 1L was not the time to try and save money by forcing myself back into it. Just one personal choice.
A lot of people live alone 1L year and make a good enough friend to live with the next year.

Sounds like a 2.5% tuition increase. Not too bad.Pishee77 wrote:Did anyone participate in the live chat? Anything interesting?

Since most have been 5-ish% (and that's what I allocated in preparing), I'll take 2.5.

Hi Everyone!
I deposited a couple days ago and I know the payment went through but I never got an acknowledgement from the law school that I would be attending. Is that normal?
Thanks!

I got confirmation from the law school (after the standard receipt) that they got my deposit. It came the day after I deposited.cclemont wrote:Hi Everyone!

Granted, this was back on April 14th, so they might be a bit busier in processing now.
No harm in calling!
