How dare you gunners talk about 0L reading.
Beyond accepting my scholarship in the FAN/CASH/whatever page, is there anything else I need to be doing right now?

Well that's not even a question, but you've gotta do something during the daytime/the days where you're not drinking during the day.cannibal ox wrote:This is the most credited thing I've read on TLS.TheWalrus wrote:Seriously, all I'm doing this summer is drinking.

It sure as hell won't be school related. Some movies/books and tutoring.Will_McAvoy wrote:Well that's not even a question, but you've gotta do something during the daytime/the days where you're not drinking during the day.cannibal ox wrote:This is the most credited thing I've read on TLS.TheWalrus wrote:Seriously, all I'm doing this summer is drinking.

From that newsletter they just sent out, looks like they are doing some renovations this month. Anyone have any idea what they're updating?

It's difficult to accomplish much in such a short time. Wish I knew!MAY 21-30 – Law School closed for renovation
Also feel like they might read TLS:
In the meantime, here’s the order of business we suggest: relax, read an entertaining novel, or sightsee. Enjoy your summer!

"Enjoy your summer" is professional lingo for "let's get bombed"

I hope they're updating the 60s paneling theme in the lobby/main entry way.camelthing wrote:It's difficult to accomplish much in such a short time. Wish I knew!

What exactly is inside of Townes Hall? I'll be in Austin when it's closed and I'm not sure what I won't be able to check out.

I know the Admissions and Financial Aid offices are in there, but are there classrooms and other student related areas?

If you wanted a super fancy building, you should have picked WUSTL

Yeah. You're really not missing much though, I promise. Your time will be better spent trolling for good food trucks in Austin or even just walking around main campus if you're into that sort of thing. The law school is probably one of the uglier top law schools (totally functional and adequate on the inside though, don't get me wrong. Well, except for the whole not being a confusing mess of a building I guess)cannibal ox wrote:I know the Admissions and Financial Aid offices are in there, but are there classrooms and other student related areas?
Also, I think Attax took a bunch of pics that he posted somewhere

I'm actually taking one of my parents to Austin for this visit so they'll have to be satisfied with pictures I send when construction is over. I've got UT alums in my family living in Texas so I'll have one of them show me the remaining campus since I guess you can't schedule any tours while they're doing work on the building. I'm just not sure how large of a portion of the law school that Townes Hall makes up.

The building with the glass hallway/courtroom is real nice. The back patio thing is nice. The cafe area is nice. I like that there's a pool table.
The campus itself is pretty impressive; tons of cool buildings and shit. I wouldn't do the tower tour a second time, but it's maybe worth it once to see everything.
Most impressive might be the, uh, campus "scenery."

I have pictures posted somewhere, I'll go find them and repost, they're pretty shitty though.
I still haven't done a tower tour, maybe I should put that on my list of things to do while drinking for this summer.

I saw the pictures, I just wasn't sure how much I'd be missing with the closure of that single building. Embarrassing, but I haven't been on UT's campus since I was like 12 years old.

I'd say it was more useful than entertaining. Helped me get my bearings straight and what not; for you, the six bucks would be better spent on this: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/383/1062/Attax wrote:I still haven't done a tower tour, maybe I should put that on my list of things to do while drinking for this summer.

I like going with this over the summer, despite the crappy ratings

A fruit/vegetable beer? Celiac?
Hell yeah on the milk stout; it's my go-to beer for sure. Nitro, that is.

I don't know what you mean by Celiac? I'm no fancy beer drinker, I just like what tastes good to me And the Ruby Redbird over the summer when it is reallllly cold (such as on tap at pluckers with some wings, yummmm) is spot on! It isn't very good if it isn't very cold though.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
