That area isn't really close to campus.

As long as it's under an hours drive I'll survive.

Oh, and yes, there's some anti-california sentiment in Austin.

Re: Texas Class of 2017
I'm very conflicted about this. I envision Zuck as someone who has has a lot of self control, and if he can't consistently resist In n Out's call, I'm pretty fucked. How does it compare to Culvers?
But yeah, go ahead and start the FB group. I think we're all mostly FB friends anyway (at least, we're all independently friends with Attax ).
Yah dude you gotta start reading the Statesman and the Chronicle, there's a story about it like every day.camelthing wrote:This is a thing? They're following theflocksDROVES of people moving from Cali.

I have no idea what Culvers is. In-n-out is almost as good as whataburger though!Will_McAvoy wrote:I'm very conflicted about this. Culvers is the home of the Butterburger (pictured below). They're pretty ubiquitous around me, and they're pretty great. Probably the best fast food burger you can get, IM(limited)O.

No love for P. Terry's? That's an Austin staple.Attax wrote:I have no idea what Culvers is. In-n-out is almost as good as whataburger though!Will_McAvoy wrote:I'm very conflicted about this. P. Terry's is alright, I'd rather go to Hut's, Your Mom's, or that little shack on south 1st and barton springs intersection that is yellow and I forgot the name of it.Cactus wrote:

Food and beer are definitely my weaknesses. Law school also made me fatter. And weaker.Will_McAvoy wrote:I'm very conflicted about this. Seriously though, it's tough to just go home and make a sandwich every day when you have to drive by In and Out.
And really the food here is incredible. If you end up in that area you aren't too far from a food truck that sells probably the best sandwich I have ever had, and a vegan food truck that is pretty incredible (and I'm a total carnivore). There is also a vegan donut food truck with really good donuts (but they are like $2.00 I think) and a vegan BBQ truck that is supposed to be good but I haven't tried it yet. Airport Blvd also supposedly has some good restaurants but I haven't ventured out to any of them.

Speaking of airport, best seafood in Austin is at Quality Seafood.

If UT dosent get better at football this time through I will be seriously sad.Will_McAvoy wrote:Nope. Better than the SECEl Principe wrote:#SECLifeWill_McAvoy wrote: It will be sad to leave my powerhouse undergrad for a school that couldn't even get one player drafted...

Likewise. I came here expecting to have an awesome football time. Yet my friends at A&M and Baylor got better shots at a national championship than we ever did during my UG.

Hey, we all can't go to BCS bowls and the Sweet Sixteen every single year.

Credited, we got one in Dallas as well, it's a great burger. The line can be a killer though..BigZuck wrote:Hopdoddy doeAttax wrote:P. Yeah I think we're going to pull the trigger. I'd prefer to be in a busier spot but it'll probably be good to be in North Campus for 1LOL. I didn't even think about food carts near it, that definitely adds to the appeal.BigZuck wrote:And really the food here is incredible. Also, is it standard to put these obnoxious application fees to apply to apartments in Austin? I haven't run into this before.

Re: Texas Class of 2017
Culvers tastes exactly like it sounds: a delicious, decadent, melt-in-your-mouth butterburger. They also have custard and some specialty items that people rave about (walleye sandwich).
In-N-Out is a very traditional burger, but there are also many ways to customize it. I associate their burgers with fresh and quality ingredients. You can taste it.
Both, however, have one fatal flaw: their fries suck. Five Guys' fries>>>>>both.

Agreed on Five Guys' fries, **IF** you eat them there. If they spend more than a minute in the bag they turn into soggy, floppy sad fries.camelthing wrote:Culvers tastes exactly like it sounds: a delicious, decadent, melt-in-your-mouth butterburger.
